Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

We have three employees. Two of us use Insightly. We use it for two purposes: to keep all of our customer contact data and to record our client interactions.
  • We use the Gmail widget to easily save emails from clients.
  • You can easily select a specific client from the search bar on their website.
  • The Gmail widget doesn't always load.
  • It seems like I have to merge contacts that the system should know are the same.
I did a lot of research 5 years ago. We picked Insightly. We were using the free version. When we ran into the data cap, we looked again and decided not to migrate our data and instead started paying for the service. It works fine. We are happy.
The reason that we picked insightly was the low cost and the Gmail integration. If those are things that someone is looking for, I would recommend it.

Using Insightly

2 - We use Insightly to meet compliance requirements to store client interactions across our business. It allows us to combine interactions into one place for review and storage. It integrates into our gmail interface so that it is easy to use. It is the one place we need to look to see what we have been saying to clients. It keeps us all in the loop.
1 - As with all CRM software, if you put garbage in, you will get garbage out. We are a small firm, so we don't have a lot of data in there, but it does take at least one person to make sure that what is put in, is linked to the right clients.

  • We need to expand our usage to track our new leads
  • We could use it to determine who is more effectively communicating with clients
We like the ease of use and integration of Insightly with our email system. Also, the unfortunate truth about CRM software is that it tends to be a roach motel. Once you get your data in, you need to keep using it. While we like the product, we know we can't easily get away from it either.
