Overall Satisfaction with Linode

We use Linode as our main VPS provider. We run several apps in the cloud, and we host them at Linode's servers. We also hire their special "Fully Managed" service for special use cases, like deploying a more complex app or performing a big migration with little downtime. We also use Linode's VPS to deploy testing scenarios.
  • Support. Not only they're kind and polite, they are effective and helpful.
  • Features. We've been 10 years with them, and always found what we were looking for.
  • Uptime. In 10 years of service we haven't had any unexpected service disruption.
  • Transparency. Every issue or mantainance task is published in their status page.
  • Pricing of the managed service. The service is really great, but you have to pay for every VPS in your account, even for the small ones that you don't need managed service for.
  • Longview graphs. The tool is awesome and very complete. Maybe it could offer more detailed granularity for historical data.
  • Hardware migrations. They are properly announced and effectively done. It would be nice not having any downtime. That's an utopia, right?
  • Predictable pricing.
Not only they are friendly and polite. They have always been truly helpful. The support team has proved to be experienced in a very wide set of aspects. In more than 10 years working with them, we have been in touch with the support team several times, and I must say I personally learned a lot.
Our business is in Argentina, and the value of our local currency has depreciated with time, so it's hard to compare. Truth is that, in all these years, we continued choosing Linode, even when their prices were getting low (but for us they were going up, because of our local currency being depreciated).
We provide service for around a thousand customers from several countries, so our app needs to be running all the time. Linode infraestructure has been always very solid and stable, and that's why we keep using them. We've been working with them for more than 10 years, and during this time, they have been constantly improving the service: new hardware, new features, new interface. And even when an unexpected issue happens, they are completely transparent and provide very detailed information in their status page.
I've been using Linode for more than 10 years, so I would recommend them blindly. Their infrastructure has been always very stable, they have been always completely transparent about issues and maintenance tasks, their support is friendly and very helpful, their prices cover a wide range of needs, and they have a lot of available features.
