Overall Satisfaction with LumApps

For my team we use LumApps for two purposes - 1 as an internal hub and 2 as a hub and community space for our program partners
  • host static information
  • tagging
  • user directory
  • slow load times
  • lots of bugs (you save changes to a page but then they did not actually save or you update a widget but then something else on the site breaks)
  • would like to see analytics (at least log in) by user
  • improved onboarding
  • great to have everything in one place/better organization
  • reduced costs for hard copy materials
As a user the site is very friendly, however, as an admin/backend user (who is not a developer) it is often a frustrating experience. Slow load times and things do not always save as indicated.
Works best with Google Workspace -- although would be great if there was a Google Classrooms integration. This is key for our use case.

Do you think LumApps delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with LumApps's feature set?

Yes

Did LumApps live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of LumApps go as expected?

No

Would you buy LumApps again?

Yes

I highly recommend LumApps for its ability to warehouse information - as an organization, we have been able to curate content (both news and employee resources) for employees to find, access, and search at their leisure. The usage of metadata and tags allows for flexible searching options and we can highlight or restrict access by employee groups. Not all of our users log in with Google and that has caused a lot of trouble for us in the past as LumApps is clearly most suited with Google Suite both from a front and back end perspective. Our staff also still prefer Slack for communicating versus LumApps communities (I am aware there is no integration but don't have this enabled in our plan). I found LumApps to be designed for there to be one company landing page and then differentiate from there and this was not our use case -- we purchased for the org but each department had very different use cases and reasons for their sites to be independent. I would think carefully about using LumApps if this applies to you because a great deal of coordination is involved.
