Overall Satisfaction with Maintenance Connection

We use it in the maintenance department for PMs, POs, and Work Orders submitted from the plant floor, safety, quality, asset management, planning, and scheduling, etc. It has streamlined our PM program and has helped save dollars by identifying gaps in our PM program. I use the Purchase order module to issue POs directly to my contractors without making a phone call. I use it to keep track of budgets throughout the year.
  • Customer Service is Outstanding.
  • Changes are made by MC through the entire network that makes suggestions.
  • The software is simple to use so even the most seasoned mechanic can navigate it.
  • The work schedules are fixed so floating schedules cannot be used. It is a product suggestion the community is working on.
  • The Migration from our old system was not fun as the software where not compatible. Took me about three months to get everything in from transferring it to excel spread sheets.
  • My ROI was 30% just on machine repair costs alone.
  • We went from about 250 PM's to over 2000. Our Up time went from 68% to Nearly 90% on all production lines.
  • Our stock outs (Parts not in Parts Room) have dropped to 2%, usually from a new machine that had different part on it that was not the same as what we had.
  • We went from Producing 10 million pounds a month to over 27 Million.
It much more user-friendly and does not have a lot of wasted information that you would never use. I did a lot of research on other CMMS programs and questioned other users and was allowed to use the test module for 3 months. That pretty much sealed the deal for everyone except for those afraid of change. Eventually, they all fall in line and accept the new CMMS system.
Since being purchase by Accruent the customer service has large gaps. They often close out an issue with out making a resolution.

Do you think Accruent Maintenance Connection delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Accruent Maintenance Connection's feature set?

Yes

Did Accruent Maintenance Connection live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Accruent Maintenance Connection go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Accruent Maintenance Connection again?

Yes

It has a very broad application so there is not much it does not cover. Our accounting department could use it but they choose not to. Really it could be company-wide for many applications. I came in as a Maximo user which was nice but very expensive to purchase and maintain.

Using Maintenance Connection

120 - Quality, Safety, Maintenance,Logistics, and some office.
3 - IT , Planning and Scheduling.
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Safety
  • Quality
  • Custom reports for tracking downtime
  • Reports for end of life cycle use
  • Reports for frequency of proper PM work.
  • E Commerce
  • Bar Coding
If I find a product with better support and some additional operational asset functions I would be willing to make a move.

Evaluating Maintenance Connection and Competitors

Yes - EPAC was the former CMMS. It lacked the versatility of MC.
  • Product Features
  • Positive Sales Experience with the Vendor
It was my first major project when I came to Masters Gallery. I evaluated other software's and MC had the best functionality for a decent start up and maintenance cost.
I would not change my path.

Maintenance Connection Implementation

If you do not have a scheduler for the PM and work order program hire one first. They can help with the migration and know how everything works in your facility.
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled - After the initial training be sure if you do decide to purchase you have put in extra days in like 6 months after using it to train again. My crew felt like that was very beneficial for questions after using the software.
  • Moving everything to Excel was cumbersome since the prior software was not windows based.
  • It took me three months to migrate everything from the old software.

Maintenance Connection Support

ProsCons
Kept well informed
Slow Resolution
Poor followup
Problems left unsolved
Difficult to get immediate help
Need to explain problems multiple times
Yes - When it was MC for Accruent response was immediate now it can take days even though we pay for 24/7 support. I we do not pay for it I would be concerned by the cost to get help if we are down.
Yes - Bug fixes are normally fixed at a decent rate.
