Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is being used by the entire org to help field marketers reach target leads and accounts, lead generation, lead routing and many other micro needs Marketo is known to meet.
  • Lead management because we cannot think of a better product to do this.
  • Scalability and robustness because we use Marketo globally and we hardly have any troubles with speed or functionality especially as we constantly load tons of logic and requests for processing on top of it.
  • Support and community resources! Marketo has one of the most active communities I know. If I post a problem there today, I'll probably get a good response before the EOD. Their support team is also very well prepared as they respond to some of our most critical needs in a short time.
  • The analytics area of Marketo needs some reworking.
  • Tracking data in Marketo can be difficult sometimes especially as activity logs lose key data after 3 months. Accessing data logs in bulk should be much simpler than it is today.
  • Marketo should be able to self-diagnose for example like where there could be logic that could cause delays or errors in the system. This feature is important if Marketo wants to win the hearts of sales and marketing execs and not just techies like me.

  • Prospecting / New Business
Marketo helps us organise our marketing such that we know where to look to build our pipeline whether it be a new market or revving up activities with existing customers.
Everything except cost. Mautic has the cost advantage and so smaller companies that happen to have simpler needs might go for it.
It's more suited for B2B marketing needs than B2C. I advise smaller companies to evaluate the value they would get from investing in Marketo before they do. There is much cheaper software on the market that comes close to Marketo but still has a few key features lacking. My point is that Marketo is not cheap if you're a small company!!
