Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Right now Marketo is being used as our main marketing automation platform. Practically, I would say it's been most used and effective as our email marketing and lead scoring machine.
  • Email Marketing - You can create segmentations for different audience groups. Marketers also have control in terms of scheduling and timing email sends in advance.
  • Lead Scoring - Gives marketing teams the ability to quantify certain behaviors and actions
  • Marketo Forms - Can integrate Marketo forms onto Wordpress and other platforms where forms can be added. required.
  • The inability to delete custom fields in a easy way is painful as an admin. Currently to delete fields it requires submitting a support ticket.
  • Admins are unable to edit existing segmentation lists if it's tied to a campaign. I understand how this can be a means of protection but it also means that if the list exists in multiple running campaigns then most likely the admin has more incentive to create a new segment list instead of creating an existing one. Overall, it ends up creating more segmentation lists than we would like.

Marketo helps us to inform prospects and customers about our solutions and events.
Mailchimp is decent for those with smaller lists.
Personally, I don't have any experience with any other Marketing Automation Platform to compare this to. But I do think that any company that has a database in the thousands that wants to think about scaling and automation should consider Marketo. It is a powerful platform capable of doing much.
