Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Marketo Engage

We use Adobe Marketo Engage across the whole organization. We are small but heavily fragmented, with many more activities than one might expect for an organization this size. Adobe Marketo Engage lets us use one tool to address a wide array of initiatives.
  • The clone function makes it really easy to duplicate and reuse previous work.
  • Nurture campaigns make it really easy to build out what would otherwise be super complicated drip campaigns.
  • The community makes it easy to find solutions and workarounds from other users around the globe.
  • The product documentation recently moved over to the Adobe platform and doesn't function as well as the old Marketo platform.
  • The training modules also moved over to Adobe, and aren't as easy to access.
  • Some features, like adding forms to real-time personalization widgets, require hacks to make them work properly.
  • The email editor really requires you to have a good email designer build templates for you during implementation.

Our organization is accustomed to a traditional batch n blast email marketing strategy, and we're trying to shift over to a more modern inbound marketing approach with lead nurturing and personalization. Because Adobe Marketo Engage can do both, we can gradually shift over to this kind of marketing instead of forcing the entire organization to buy in at once.
My experience with other marketing automation platforms is they work great, but only if your organization fits in with what they expect you to be. If you don't operate in that way, you have to get really clever to find workarounds. With Adobe Marketo Engage, it takes longer to set up, but you can set it up to work exactly how your organization works.

Other marketing automation platforms are easier to set up but really start to fall apart if you need to color outside the lines. Adobe Marketo Engage is worth the extra setup time if you need the flexibility for an organization that doesn't strictly fit the traditional sales funnel model.
