Return on Investment

The threat detection has saved us from possible breaches multiple times and kept users from interacting with emails that could have caused a security incident.
After switching to Exchange online the number of hours spent on email administration has dropped dramatically.
The data loss prevention configuration has helped us curb possible issues with employees sharing sensitive information over email.
The new reporting features have allowed us to adjust many of our email filtering rules to cut down on spam as well as reduce the amount of useless archived data.

Microsoft Exchange offered far more flexibility and customization than Google Workspace. From an administration perspective, it seemed easier to work with Exchange than with Gsuite/Google Workspace. Our employees were more familiar with Microsoft and their comfort level made the idea of moving more difficult.

We have dozens of domains and send out thousands of emails every day along with receiving thousands more. Microsoft Exchange allows us to manage all of this easily. Any organization that needs any form of automated email system will likely benefit from Microsoft Exchange. The newer Exchange has also greatly decreased the amount of time spent on managing/administration of email which is a great benefit regardless of the business size. I feel that any business larger than a few people and without a dedicated email engineering team would appreciate Exchange.
