Overall Satisfaction with Miro

If used right, Miro has the ability to replace multiple other toolsets. The variety of use cases it addresses includes from Agile/Design coaching sessions to marketing or HR requirements. Its use case can be broadly classified as catering to every segment of enterprise departmental requirements while being a simplistic tool to use. It addresses various issues in terms of collaboration.
a. Collaborating users can contribute to the design flow and participate from BYOD devices, but they cannot copy or take screenshots of the boards in the enterprise plan.
b. Set passwords to ensure that each user is registered or only intended participants can collaborate.
c. With whom you can share the boards (internal to team or external to organization).
d. Data Security - You can also store the content within the country which requires a separate license when working on Government projects.
e. Board level access can be determined by the board classification which will make it simpler while sharing public information outside the organization or to retain classified information for government projects.
f. Collaborating through MS Teams is possible through the chat, scheduled meetings or community also making it a default choice.

  • Ease of Use
  • Retains leadership as a collaborative tool over competitor tools which are focused on design aspects
  • Quick to setup, Integration into enterprises is a breeze
  • Handles the diverse requirements well for various departments
  • Can be used with audio /video tools like Qube to enhance the presentation for marketing seminars or pitches.
  • Can be used in Metaverse environments to present a holistic walkthrough to users.
  • User management in Miro Teams. As company admin, I should be able to allocate licenses to Miro Groups or Miro Teams and the Team admins within the Miro groups should manage within the license limit. This reduces administrative overheads on the company admin transferring the responsibility of user administration to the Team requirements. This can be flexibly rotated by team admins after the purchase of licenses.
  • Audit logs retention period - I have raised this earlier also and I will raise this again. The retention period must be automatically deleted by allowing the company admin to specify the duration of the audit log retention. This is required as part of GDPR compliance practices. Hopefully, this will be rolled out in the near future as promised.
  • The Terms and conditions of usage. This is a display of the terms and conditions which is very much required when working on board collaborations. Note that companies are soliciting business using a third party tool to solicit or collaborate with vendors or partners outside of their companies. This is required to ensure the legal compliance from each party as Miro is a third party cloud hosted solution for the user community.
  • ECP program does not allow external users full flexibility. We still had to purchase Full licenses for our partners as the ECP program was restrictive in nature.
  • App control - Third party apps must be owned by Miro for use with Miro whiteboards. This is because enterprises do not have an agreement with individual user apps developed for Miro board. We have a company policy only to allow apps which are provided by Miro or where the party providing the app already has an agreement with us. This however diminishes the value of the app usage of some provided by individual users.
  • Improved productivity and reduced project completion times with quicker return on initial investment
  • Reduction in (time and cost) travel and efforts to cater to multiple clients through online seminars and marketing events.
  • Flexible event management through Metaverse environments and enhanced audio visual experience with tools such as Qube..
  • Single Tool for varied purposes now reduced need for multiple tools.
Timeconsuming as I had to frequently interact with the Miro teams as well as check with internal teams.
Functionality support must improve given that there are frequent weekly updates by Miro. It is difficult for Product owners to own this as there is no control on the change roadmap.
Cumbersome initially, but as it was onetime, it was ok.
It can be made simpler as pointed out. Additionally, the frequent changes require Miro to plan for more Miro 101 training sessions to frequently update the user community. It would be best if these sessions were weekly and any user from across the globe could participate in these sessions from various companies instead of having a dedicated session for each company/region.
Significantly reduced travel, time and cost when dealing with multiple customers through online marketing seminar type events instead of physical location based events.
Makes it easier to schedule a session, get the content ready offline by team members and present it for the scheduled session.

Miro is excellent as a collaborative tool while Figma is more of a design presentation tool. However, on a comparative note, I found that there is no significant lack when compared with Figma. Other tools compared include FCS and Microsoft Whiteboard. Miro remains years ahead of these toolsets.
