Overall Satisfaction with NAKIVO Backup & Replication

We are using NAKIVO Backup & Replication to take periodical backups of our VMware ESXi 6.7 VMs The product is easy to use, and it runs multi-platform (including some NAS appliances) We recently upgraded to the Enterprise edition to use 2-factor authentication and Site Recovery capabilities We are very happy, either of the product itself and both Technical and Commercial support.

Pros

  • Takes hot snapshot of running VMs and backs them up to any device (Tape, NAS, Storage)
  • Gives capability to perform full/selectively restore
  • It's running on Linux, Windows and VMware OSes; also available as APP for certain NAS devices (e.g. QNAP)

Cons

  • NAKIVO allows to take immutable backups to protect from ransomware
  • Cost per socket of Enterprise version is few hundreds dollar, so the ROI is quite fast
We are satisfied by choosing NAKIVO, both for the backup solution iself and the support we gain

Comprehensive VM backup solution, easy to use a very reliable
Technical support is fast responsive and always provide a professional level of service
For entry level customers the minimum of 2 sockets is a limit
We have a VMware ESXi 6.7 server hosting several VMs, with fiber connectivity to a QNAP NAS, where we reserved a data store for NAKIVO We deployed a Virtual Appliance, running on the same server, which will take hot snapshots on a weekly basis of all VMs and saving them to the NAS; performances are quite impressive: total time taken to process approx 1TB of data is 1.5 hours (transfer rate is 350 Mbit/s avg)
