Overall Satisfaction with Namely

Namely is the HR system for managing employees from hours, to performance reviews, tax paperwork, team assignments and vacation time for our full time employees.
  • ease of access to critical data
  • consolidates all HR functions into one platform
  • provides top level insight into corporate structure for inter-departmental communication
  • tracks hourly employees
  • job code and time tracking
  • the time clock app
  • general ease of setup and use - many users struggle to set up some of the time tracking features

Do you think Namely delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Namely's feature set?

Yes

Did Namely live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Namely go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Namely again?

Yes

  • while many companies are seeing turnover, Namely is a great way to keep up to date on all things related to labor capital.
  • nobody likes performance reviews, and Namely has a somewhat labor intensive process.
  • the hourly time tracking is not quite there
Our experience has traditionally been with entertainment focused HR providers, as our company added other business verticals a need for more traditional HR services became manifest. Namely filled the gap and while is still missing some of the more granular time tracking aspects needed in some entertainment accounting, it's UX is much better than the somewhat dated, small-market offerings we had used. Overall, Namely does what it says it's going to do and automates much of the HR process.
Again, the standalone time clock app needs a major rework.
There are some clunky UX parts, but broadly Namely has a clean design with information easily accessible.
Namely excels in larger companies with robust workflows for managing performance and career milestones. For companies with many projects and a need for granular cost assessment, the difficulty in making, assigning, and the interface for job code switching is a barrier to employee use consistently.
