Nintex Workflow for Sharepoint

Overall Satisfaction with Nintex Process Platform

We use Nintex Platform to automate the time management in our organization. This means, the whole process of time stamping correction, holiday and absence requests, approvals, etc. Also, in general, for document and record management in SharePoint, especially when an approval is needed.
  • User management
  • Quasi-looping, list management
  • Access to various object properties
  • Debugging
  • Occasionally workflows will stop with cryptic messages, no real clue why
  • More powerful / object-oriented data manipulation
  • Saved a lot of manual work by optimizing data collection
  • Speeds up approval processes
  • Shortened feedback loops
SharePoint only. The flexibility is not really an issue.
For approval of various requests, for setting rights on objects, etc. The users do not get to see much of Nintex Platform, it is used more or less as a background tool.
it got non-programming staff to do some basic programming which is great. For the programming background staff, it gets difficult as the logic or overall approach is sometimes not intuitive for them.
would not agree with this statement necessarily. For complex solutions, the loop might be quite long to complete, and for a number of points only a combination of i.e. custom forms, javascript driven inputs etc. are really effective solutions. The more complex the workflow gets, the more it becomes difficult to shorten the cycle.
Well, the workflow design is much easier with Nintex Platform. Also the functions are much more versatile. But, if you are a programmer, forget what you know, you have to learn to think in SharePoint-ish and Nintex-ish.

Do you think Nintex Process Platform delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Nintex Process Platform's feature set?

Yes

Did Nintex Process Platform live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Nintex Process Platform go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Nintex Process Platform again?

Yes

Any approval process is fairly good with Nintex Platform. One of the issues we faced was the performance of the built-in approval forms: they tend to be quite slow in performance, and the list of the open approvals does not get immediately updated as soon as an approval is given, so the users end up trying to approve already processed items.
The solution we developed was JavaScript based custom approval - it works, but the documentation is rather sketchy and object models are sometimes not really usefully made.

Using Nintex Process Platform

6 - difficult to understand. if you mean how many people are using the workflows, then it is the full organization (300+ people). If the question is how many of those are creating workflows or using the Nintex to do some kind of business modeling, then it is 6.
2 - Not fully dedicated. 3-4 additional might help in some technicalities on critical workflows and their i.e. failures.
  • Time record correction
  • Closure with approval of over-streched project accounts
  • Holiday management
  • Scientific/education management of the personnel
  • not really sure.
  • approvals, ERP automation and getting away from paper records
Nintex runs in such manner that it needs "push" to keep and resolve failed workflows. We found regular failures in cases of concurrent use of the workflows by multiple persons might end up with obscure failures like "enumeration has been modified" etc.Further, the default approval forms are really a drag, take ages to load, so we had to replace them all together with javascript based solutions (which defeats the purpose of the nintex in the first place).
