Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server
Our company develops software with C# for Windows. With Parallels Remote Application Server, we can publish our Windows client to our customers. Our customers have a cloud-like experience. The customer has a link on their desktop (Windows or Mac) and can start our program. The program starts on a server in the cloud, but the customer sees it on their computer. This is a great solution for us because we are working on transitioning to web-based, but we are not there yet. Customers want the cloud, so we provide it with this solution.
Pros
- Replacing the old RemoteApp idea
- Everything can be on one server, so no need for an extra domain controller
- Branding the software with your own company style
Cons
- Some site-to-site functionality, so the server can connect directly with the company
- Protection on the RDP, HTTPS ports, with blocking IP on multiple wrong logins
- Cloud hosting costs are low, because it is an all-in-one solution.
Our sales team provides an HTML5 demo of our software thanks to Parallels Remote Application Server. When you publish an app with Parallels Remote Application Server, it is also available in the browser with the HTML5 functionality.
Our sales team gives potential customers a link, username, and password, and the potential customer can check out the software in the browser.

Parallels Remote Application Server runs on a Hyper-V, VMware ESXi Virtuele machine just fine. It's just like a physical server. There is no difference. We use it like this all the time.
Parallels Remote Application Server is safe for customers to use online because there are multiple security measures to take. The most important one is SSL HTTPS transport with server and client.
