Overall Satisfaction with Paychex Flex

We currently use Paychex Flex to track our hours spent on different projects for billing. It is easy to record and edit time. There are 2 apps available in the app store one is the simplified version where you can clock in and clock out the other is the full version where you can check your benefits almost like the website.
  • time tracking
  • payroll tracking
  • health and benefits enrollment
  • It is a little laggy at times after you switch from one project to the other. The system won't show your total time today right away.
  • since Paychex chose health insurance provider for us, and we don't have a say in it.
  • easy to use and has both a website and apps to track our time and benefits. it saves a lot of time for us.
  • All payroll related info are in one place.
Positively - easy to customize time reports to external billing purposes. it has all the details i need in order to bill out the management fees. Easily filter and rearrange all the data i could use.
I don't [directly] deal with Paychex Flex support but I have heard unpleasant experiences from HR where the customer support doesn't seem to know what he's doing and when the designated representative is on vacation we have nobody else to go to. Definitely space for improvement if they want to retain customers in the day and age.
we just started using insperity to manage our payroll and benefits. haven't had enough experience with it in order to comment on the pros and cons against paychex flex. The only thing i have noticed so far is Paychex flex's platform is simpler and straight forward. i feel like it is more user friendly.

We can have access to everything everywhere and the ease of navigation is what makes Paychex Flex stand out. The ability to build payroll reports, track employees' accrued time, and perform almost all payroll duties on one website is a great time saver.
I think it is a useful tool for a small to medium-sized company that needs to track time for different clients or projects. You can set different levels for employees to keep track of their time and run reports that will be automatically sent to your inbox for your billing. It is easy to use and pretty straightforward.

Relationship with Paychex, Inc.

i was not directly involved in the sales process, but i haven't heard any negative comments regarding that.
mixed experiences. the app by itself is very simple and easy to use, but sometimes it is hard to reach customer representative and we felt like we have been left in the dark. we believe payroll related issues need to be dealt with right away so everybody, employer and employees can have a peace of mind.
i am not directly involved in the negotiation process.
just express your needs clearly and concisely. nobody have time to lengthy comments. that will save both you and the vendor time and energy.

Using Paychex Flex

12 - to enter time, track project progress, manage payroll and benefits.
i don't think we have any.
  • time tracking
  • health benefit management
  • payroll
there are a lot of competitors on the market such as BambooHR and Insperity. Paychex need to make significant improvement on their offline customer service in order to compete with the other guys. Everything is online now and timely response to customer's questions is vital. Customers won't enjoy being put on hold for 45 mins every time they have a question regarding their HSA problems.
