Chat has been helpful but the person I chat with isn't always able to help me with my questions. Phone support is ok, depending on your payroll specialist. We have a great one currently, but the few before that were never available and did not return calls.

Overall, the support for Paychex Flex has been a positive experience. Between online help, chat and the phone support, we've found nearly all representatives to be helpful, knowledgable and friendly. In our experience if there was a representative who was not able to assist, our request was either escalated or we were assigned a representative who was better able to assist us.

Sometimes it is hard to reach my support person. If I have to leave a message she usually gets back with me the same day but not every time. It is now possible to reach someone else if my support person is not available.

When we have questions, we often first use the help section of available topics. Many are included there. If we are not able to find satisfactory answers, we continue to contact a specialist. Over the last three years, our specialists have changed about every six months. Sometimes, we get a timely returned contact; other times, there is a significant delay in response.

On almost all occasions our questions are answered within 24 hours. Any agent I've personally spoken with via phone when needing immediate assistance was handled professionally and with kindness

I have not been happy with Paychex Flex in recent years with their support. Even after contacting management, I was never contacted back or was just switched to a new agent. The problems were never addressed or fixed after multiple times of trying to contact them.

In my opinion, pick anything besides Paychex Flex. I've worked with 7 different HRIS systems in my career and In my opinion, this is by far the worst.

Some departments are better than others. The 401k department has always been my least favorite, and I find them to be the least helpful with the slowest turnaround time for answering questions. I wish there was a brand promise of say a 24-hour turnaround time to answer our emails, but, sometimes, we have to email or try to call our payroll account rep multiple times to get answers.

As said before, I have someone at my disposal ALL THE TIME! Having David my own personal representative has been AMAZING. He always gets back to me and if he is not available, someone else will respond. If I call the 800 number, who ever answers is always able to help me. Pleasant and efficient. I consult for another company and I feel spoiled when I see them struggling with their payroll company.

Support has been responsive. I would send an email and receive a response either on the same day or the next day. Some of the emails I send are regarding IRS updates and taxes, another one was on Worker's comp and they connected me to a Worder's comp expert who personally called me to explain or clarify some items. So far, I don't have any complaints at all. My experience has been positive.

Since I'm a Volunteer and not an accountant, they have been able to answer my questions concerning the payroll, rate changes, and new employees. They sometimes do the changes for me instead of my accessing the website.
