Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We signed on with Paylocity to streamline our HR, timekeeping, and payroll processes. We wanted one system that could handle onboarding, the flow from onboarding into HR & Payroll, and reporting related to time and attendance and HR demographics. We also desire to move away from the storing of our current paper documents. We know that the system is capable of doing all of these things; however, it hasn't been as easy to transition into the site as we had hoped. Countless hours have been spent trying to read PEAK articles (their version of a training guide), watching video tutorials, and reaching out to the Service Team. I suspect that if the implementation goes smoothly, this won't be as much of an issue for the company as it was for us.
Pros
- Reporting Function
- Self-service Portal capabilities
- Access to paystubs
Cons
- In my experience, implementation was terribly confusing, disjointed, and complicated. Way too many people involved in the process. It would be better to have one point person oversee the training for all the various segments of Paylocity.
- Customer service - being bounced around from one division to another (i.e. If I call HR & Payroll, I am told the function I'm asking about is a question for the Benefits division.
- Lack of follow-up during implementation
- Electronic storage of documentation
- Increased morale via Impressions feature on self-service portal
- Better reporting and instant access to needed information
The automation tool has saved us money in the area of printing costs as well as in the reduction of wasted paper. It has also allowed us to more easily access documentation electronically, which has especially helped when working from home. As we become more familiar with the platform, I believe it will also save time, which is directly linked to budget dollars on salary saved.
The Impressions page is one of the unexpected highlights that our staff have used regularly. Staff give a shout out to other team members who are going above and beyond their normal responsibility and the staff who are recognized appreciate that. This information has been helpful for managers to use during feedback meetings or performance evaluations.
The dedicated account manager that we were to be assigned with Paylocity was a selling point for us. The integrated and seamless transition from onboarding to hr & payroll was also a key feature. The reporting functionality and ability to custom write reports was better here than elsewhere.
