Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for time cards, payroll, company communication, reporting, onboarding, and other HR supportive duties. They have been integral as we moved to a regional business for running multi-state payroll (e.g., different state taxes, unemployment, etc.). Their reporting has also helped with work comp & 401K audits as well as completing OSHA logs.

Pros

  • Some bells & whistles that cost extra
  • Limited media availability in Community posts
  • Changes are not always communicated well - you log it and something is different
  • Reduced time on payroll and payroll related tasks (e.g., taxes)
  • Reduced errors (or opportunity for errors)
  • Better company communication - easily notify everyone through the app
We used to track time in one program, run payroll in another, and have to manage state/federal taxes through their multiple websites. Now, everything is done in Paylocity saving time and making life easier (with fewer worries). Our team clocks in/out with Paylocity, their time is transferred to our weekly payroll, we don't have to think about taxes, and it's all integrated with our accounting software.
Community has made it easier to communicate effectively to everyone in the company (especially, since not everyone has a company email, but everyone has the Paylocity app). We need to be better at using the peer recognition and other tools that Paylocity makes available to us at no additional charge.
We used to use QuickBooks for our payroll, and we understand that have become easier to use since we made the switch to Paylocity, but it still doesn't sound like the process(es) are as simple/seamless as Paylocity. We were thrilled when we made the change and are still happy to this day.
