Overall Satisfaction with Procore
At first, we were hesitant about using an in-depth project management software like Procore. We didn't think we could get our field staff on-board and use it to its potential. The thing that tipped the scale in Procore's favor was the integration with our bidding and our financial software.
While it's still a challenge to get some of the field guys to fully use Procore, we have found it very valuable when keeping the client informed on the project's progress and schedule.

- I really like the default levels of user permissions. It's so nice to allow owners, architects, subs, internal team members to have one spot to upload and check everything, but also we know they're not getting more information than we want them to have.
- Daily log tool is extremely important and useful. With questions about delays when items arrived or about subs to complete work on time, it's critical we have documentation. We've run into this problem a few times and having that backup that can be accessed from the field or office makes our life easier.
- For the most part, it's user-friendly which means it's easier to get our non-technical field superintendents to use the app on their phone and laptops. A tool can be great, but if not used, it's a waste of money.
- The change order process is a little confusing. I would like to see that cleaned up a little.
- Not sure why the budget and prime contract schedule of values requires two entries. It would be nice to enter everything in once and be done.
- The transmittal vs submittal was a little confusing for some of our guys.
- BuilderTrend and Prolog
BuilderTrend, but it was too heavy on the sales side and not enough on the project management side.
I used Prolog in the past, but it was too large and I didn't think I could get our field guys to use it.

We have a set of owners that we do on average two projects a year with. They can be very needy and it can be time-consuming when it comes to providing updates and answering questions. With Procore, we can upload photos daily, track our progress against the schedule, and produce daily reports; the owners can log in and review at their convenience. They like using Procore and it has freed up a measurable amount of time for our project manager.
- It really helps keep the PMs informed on how their project is performing on many levels including budget-wise.
- Daily logs are accessible from the office. We no longer have to ask for their construction book and review it.
- The communications between operations, project teams, and finance have been really good for everyone. Finance can review subcontracts and bids.
- Gain visibility into projects
- Ensure information is accessible and up to date
- Document job site conditions
- Report on incidents and inspections
- Identify job site risks
- Track cost impacts from the field
- Streamline financial reporting
- Improve forecast accuracy
- Simplify employee time tracking
We would like to use the safety portion of Procore more effectively. We also need to start using the time tracking for employees. Full implementation of a system like Procore should realistically take a year or more.
