An Excellent Product for Field and Office Collaboration
Overall Satisfaction with Procore
Right now we use Procore with our field operations department and accounting. Human Resources utilizes the safety portion, particularly for reporting any safety issues or incidents. The software gives us a more granular look at how our jobs are performing and our use of time.
Pros
- One common, easy to use platform across the entire company.
- Safety reports/incidents in a digital format, with quick and immediate data recording.
- Punch lists for quality related items that can be documented for follow up.
Cons
- What would be great is if the incident reports somehow could import into the OSHA 300 log.
- The self-serve training can be a little dry. Hands-on seems to work best.
Although they are not exactly the same product, they are both designed for field workers. Procore is much, much more user-friendly, and their app is more reliable.
We do use Procore with GC's and some subs. That is how we actually learned of the software when we were a sub. It's definitely a beneficial feature when you have field workers and office workers who need to be in constant touch.
- Less in-person meetings, and the ones we do have are shorter and more efficient.
- ROI not fully known yet, but we are trending toward it being a money saver.
- Gain visibility into projects
- Ensure information is accessible and up to date
- Document job site conditions
- Report on incidents and inspections
- Identify job site risks
- Track cost impacts from the field
- Streamline financial reporting
- Improve forecast accuracy
Visibility into projects and ensuring information is up to date is very important and what we felt we were missing through our former manual processes. We are not using it for employee time tracking (yet).
