Overall Satisfaction with RingCentral MVP
We are a start-up midstream gas company. We needed a phone solution that was cost-effective, easy to manage, fast to deploy and flexible to adjust to our future growth. Currently, we use RingEX in our HQ office for phone calls, conference calls, hosted online meetings and faxing. Many of my users use the conference bridge on a Polycom Soundstation 7000 and the call quality is great.
- Each user has their own conference bridge number included with their profile and with unlimited minuted. Other competitors wanted to charge $.03/minute and would charge additionally per month per conference bridge. This feature brings savings and flexibility.
- They have vast options of compatible IP phones (Polycom, Cisco, YeaLink). They will help you deploy a third party phone if you decide to purchase one outside of their website (only the deployment, no continuing support).
- Their customer service is fantastic. From getting started with your new phone system to continuing support, they really excel in this area.
- Support for more toll free calling/conference bridge number for other countries. We needed UAE toll free calling and had to go to another vendor for the service.
- Contacts feature on the desktop app and mobile app tend to show duplicates contact entries.
- RingEX helped us save $150/month with their conference bridge included without additional per minute fees.
Vonage and RingEX stacked up evenly up until it came time for the conference bridge feature. Vonage, as of February 2017, offered all the features of RingEX at a competitive price. For the conference bridge, which was a big driver in the decision, they only offered 1 bridge at $14.99/month + $.03/minute charge. Based on our historical data, we used on average 5,000 minutes monthly and would have paid an additional $150/month with Vonage. With RingEX, they include a conference bridge for each user in the monthly price per line. This gave us savings and flexibility with each user having their own line.

1 - It doesn't require a certain type of skill. It requires a bit of time to get used to the interface and where features are located. The interface does a good job of walking you thru phone deployment, user creation, phone line assignments, extension assignments and more. Their support is very helpful in case you don't understand or need clarity on a step from their portal. I decided to purchase 3 phones from Amazon since it was cheaper: PolyCom IP 7000, Polycom VVX 601, Yealink W56P. Only the VVX 601 is listed as a directly supported phone that is straightforward to configure. The other 2 are listed as supported but required additional configuration. I called RingEX and they helped me configure both phones.
