Overall Satisfaction with Rubrik

We use Rubrik to backup our on-prem environment which consists of a purely virtualized VMware environment onto a Rubrik appliance. These backups are replicated to a DR location with another physical appliance. We also use Rubrik Cloud backups to backup our Azure DevOps environment and our Microsoft 365 data including user accounts and SharePoint online.

  • The biggest ROI for us has been the knowledge that we have secure reliable backups
  • Ability to restore a VM almost instantly and have it back up and running has saved a lot of downtime.
  • Veeam Backup & Replication
The biggest thing that Rubrik gave us over using Veeam is the secure appliances. We don't have to have another server to manage that simply runs the backup software, we have a managed appliance with a single update interface. Veeam backup and restore works just as well, but didn't feel as secure with the requirement for a Windows Server to run Veeam on.

Rubrik is great at backing up and restoring Virtual Machines in a VMware environment. The process works easily and pretty much without failure. The live mount process works well to get a VM back up and running quickly and then migrating it back to the production environment. The replication process to replicate the backups offsite to our secondary Rubrik appliance also works great. The backup of Microsoft 365 data seems to work great, but the restore process has some room for improvement.

Rubrik Support

Support is very responsive and quick to solve any problems. Every support engineer I've interacted with has been extremely knowledgeable about the product and very helpful. I ran into an issue on Thanksgiving Day and was still able to get a quick response and help with the issue.

We do have the highest tier of licensing and support.
Yes - I found a bug with O365 restores on Thanksgiving Day, it was fixed within 24 hours even on a holiday.
Every time I've contacted support its been a great experience. I've had support contact me to let me know of issues that I hadn't even found out about. They have contacted me about failing drives before they were failed and gotten the replacements out to me before the drive completely failed.

Using Rubrik

One of the easiest to use web interfaces I've used for backup/recovery. Any issues we've come across are addressed quickly and efficiently by the Rubrik support team.

Relationship with Rubrik, Inc

We are fine with the 1 year or 3 year support options that Rubrik has had. The support for the on-prem hardware has been great too. We've had them for quite a while (4+ years) and no end of support yet.
