Overall Satisfaction with Rubrik

We use Rubrik to back up our entire systems. We backup our physical servers and VMs which is about 30TB of data. We also use the ransomware detection software in Rubrik to look for any abnormalities constantly. We appreciate the ZeroTrust policy so we know that no changes can be made by a single user or accidentally. Having Rubrik give us an all around piece of mind.

Vast improvement. We used UltraBac for about 15 years. This service was very outdated. It had no dashboard and would send emails about the backups that were done overnight. We would get an email that a server was partially backed up or there were errors, then we would have to go searching the NASs and compare the files to the servers to find what files were missing. Rubrik's dashboard absolutely changed the game for us. We can see at a glimpse what backups were successful and which ones failed. We can also see exactly where they failed and what files didn't back up instantly. For us, Rubrik has saved countless hours!

Rubrik has provided an all-encompassing backup solution for our organization. It has help us catch potential threats with the automatic file anomaly detection. Their level of support as been fast and very helpful. We haven't had Rubrik very long but we have been very happy with the seamless integration and support!

Using Rubrik

25 - We us Rubrik to backup our main servers. Each of these servers represent a crucial department in our system. We back up records and employment information for HR. We backup salary scheduels and payroll for finance. We backup our student data for our SIS. We also backup our configurations for our servers and software.
2 - We have 2 users who actively check the Rubrik dashboard everyday. They are both Network Analysts who have full access to the servers in the case Rubrik alerts of any issues. These users also have email alerts turned on so that they are immediately aware of any issues detected by Rubrik. These employees also scan for any new servers or VMs that need to be backed up with Rubrik.

The support has been incredible. Any time we have had a question, it has always been answered within 24hrs. Also, the team is always will to hop on a Zoom call to help walk us through the dashboard and troubleshoot any issues we are having. Also, having the peace of mind that our data is protected should anything happen in our system.

Evaluating Rubrik and Competitors

Yes - We were using UltraBac as our backup solution. There was no dashboard for the backups. We would recieve an email every morning for each server that backed up the night before. If (when) an email for a server did not come in, we would have to spend hours going through that server to determine why it did not back up. It was not feasible to do that everyday.

The ease of use was huge for us. Now that we are able to see everything from the dashboard, we can quickly check on our backups first thing in the morning. It used to take us a minimum of half an hour to check the backups. Then, if there was a problem, it could take us the rest of the morning to track down the issue.
We wouldn't change a thing.
