Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct is used as our accounting system. Intacct is great for multi-entity reporting. We prepare the accounting for 7 entities that include noncontrolling interests and we love the ability to account for all entities in the same system and with the same login. We are able to create robust reporting and dashboards to track each companies performance.
  • Multi-Entity Reporting
  • Dashboards
  • Custom Reporting
  • Reclassification of certain transactions not possible
  • Audit trail functionality with integrations shows blank
  • Refunding customers is not intuitive or an easy process
  • Went from not closing every company every month to now closing every company every month
  • Reporting has gone from a lengthy manual process that could take a day or two to a quick process of creating the report straight out of the system
  • Dashboards now show real-time data for management that was not available before
We have not necessarily noticed any difference between our previous software, QuickBooks Online, and Sage Intacct as it relates to the core financial processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and order management. We have been able to integrate systems with Sage Intacct that have been able to automate those processes. We were able to integrate the same accounts payable solution. We are now adding an accounts receivable automation solution that works with Sage Intacct. We like the API integrations we have with Sage Intacct.
The multi-entity module has been especially valuable as we deal with 7 companies currently. Before we had lengthy manual processes to report on multiple entities and frankly it did not occur that much. Now it just takes us accounting for it in the accounting system and then running the consolidating reports. We also use Project Accounting. We are still trying to make full use of the module but what we have been able to do thus far has been helpful as it allows us to track revenues and costs by project in different companies.
We used a third party to help us configure Sage Intacct. I would highly suggest using a third party to do so as the system is quite robust and it is best to have others who are more familiar with the system. Our third-party provider was able to help us with best practices within Sage Intacct. Our third-party provider only had to reach out to Sage Intacct a couple of times during our implementation process and there were no issues to my knowledge with those issues.

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

Yes

QuickBooks Online is great for small businesses as it is very user-friendly and extremely easy to use. To do this functionality is a bit lacking on some controls. Also, its reporting and dashboard features were very lacking. Both Oracle NetSuite and Sage Intacct are the top cloud accounting software for mid-size businesses. I have used both and both have pros and cons. NetSuite allowed more dimensions to be used and its reporting was even more robust but the UI/UX was a bit clunky. Sage Intacct is more user-friendly and still has robust reporting. It also integrates really well with other systems we use.
Sage Intacct is a good reporting system for accounting departments who want a more robust system, generally, once companies are not necessarily considered small businesses but enter the mid-size realm. Small businesses would find the system too robust and too much time to configure. Sage Intacct is great for multi-entity reporting and has a robust reporting feature.
