Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business ByDesign
[It's a] Full business management tool, used to integrate all departments into a single system. My department uses it for sales, both as a CRM tool and pipeline management. The entire organization uses the same platform for various functions. It addresses the issue of siloed information. It allows users to access a variety of information (service calls, pending orders, sales opportunities, financial balances, etc) with user controlled permissions.
- Reporting- Users can slice and dice data very easily to generate the desired information views
- Integrating Data- Financial data and sales data reside in a single platform
- Help- Embedded help features, tons of online forums, chat help, etc
- At times the system can be a bit tedious, what I mean by that is multiple clicks to complete a simple task.
- Complexity can be an issue, but the system does allow for configuration to match complexity with user role
- Internet Access- Cloud only system if our local internet is out, access can be challenging. We used mobile hotspots when needed and this worked fine.
- Great tool for me as a salesman, visibility into all my accounts and contacts. Great ROI for me personally as it helps me track my business prospects.
- Easy access via the cloud for home, office, or on the go. Has mobile apps that are effective for simple tasks and reminders.
- Great community to be a part of, tons of online resources. Also, have the ability to connect with SAP directly and with partner network, there are many layers of support.
- Epicor Cloud ERP, Microsoft Dynamics AX and NetSuite
ByDesign stacks up well against the competition. Companies that do multiple things are usually the best fit (manufacturing, distribution, and service). The more 'modules' used, the fewer competitors will be able to meet the company's needs. It is not inexpensive, but if the needs of the company have the complexity from either a global perspective and need localizations and foreign currency, or a volume perspective and need resources greater than what can be easily housed on-premise, ByDesign should be a top consideration.
