Overall Satisfaction with SAP Sales Cloud

We loved using SAP Sales Cloud because as the names states, it is a cloud solution. You can access it everywhere, anytime, within and outside the office. This was very important because the commercial teams are the primary users, and are often travelling, visiting clients and away from a desk. We used it to store prospect information, create customer profiles, manage the sales activities, publish reports on sales activities and sales funnel, but also connect to marketing campaigns and keep track of marketing activities and response. The scope was therefore a sales tool and customer database.

  • A lot of customization is required to fit the needs of your company, you need to setup the structure of forms and fields that you wish to keep track of or make mandatory
  • Visibility of sales funnel was greatly improved, by having access to reports and dashboards
  • A CRM platform in general doesn't neccesarily have a measurable ROI, because it is mainly an expense, but once adopted by sales and marketing, data quality and intergration with for example marketing campaigns make lives much easier.

SAP ERP integration creates a connection that can make sure you have access to use the latest and right financial data related to sales. SAP Marketing Cloud enables automation of marketing campaigns and activities, and allows you to concentrate sales and marketing efforts on segmented lists while keeping access to the latest customer data, and storing campaign responses.
Scalability is great. Many different business units and different offices throughout the world can all use the same platform. Per business line you can segment what information they can view or change. It is easy to add extra business lines and add additional users to the platform.
Microsoft Dynamics is often the first choice because it integrates well with the MS Office Suite, but as a cloud platform it was in our experience lumpier, and more difficult to configure. You would need external consultants to come in and set up many of the interfaces, often requiring custom coding on the back-end. SAP Sales Cloud came with a natural integration with our SAP ERP system, so therefore was the prefered choice.

They are great if you want to have a one-stop-shop for contact management, sales and prospect funnel, and combine this all with marketing campaigns. It is cloud hosted, which has benefits to the users, especially if you are a global organization where travel is frequent. You do need a strong support team that will help configure, manage, clean the content, and train the users.
