Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

We use two Scale servers, one is housing our servers for daily use and the other is housed at a different location for Disaster Recovery. The main Scale server houses our Windows Forest Domain Controller which does Windows Authentication, DHCP, DNS, Print Sharing, etc., it also houses a couple of other specific purpose servers. I am for the most part the only daily user but I do have a couple people who occasionally use the system. It is fantastic for DR as we would never have to lose anything more than the last hour of data and downtime is a few minutes.
  • Instant disaster recovery.
  • Incredible ease of use.
  • Reasonable pricing for the peace of mind.
  • Remote in the console can be a little limited.
I have used support a handful of times and they have always been very responsive and quick to resolve any issues.
We run our Windows Forest Domain Controller, Access Control System Server (doors) and Building Controls Server (Heat and HVAC). My experience is that they run rock solid. I have set up test servers and played with Disaster Recovery just to test and it was excellent. I was able to recover in minutes with essentially no data loss.
  • We used to use a Dell AppAssure server for bare metal recovery. I had an entire RAID Array fail and it took hours to get the server restored. When it was restored there were all kinds of issues with Windows Sever that we did not expect even though the hardware was identical. I no longer have to worry about this because I have dome HR with Scale and it was flawless.
  • The server can be a bit loud when it is being heavily utilized.
  • Everything runs bulletproof.
I have used:
VMWare
HyperV
A custom pre packaged version of HyperV from a Canadian company that I cannot recall the name of (they are out of business)
Oracle VirtualBox
Azure
I can't imagine any scenario where a Scale solution would not be well suited.
