Overall Satisfaction with Skype for Business (formerly Lync)

Skype for Business (formerly Lync) has helped all areas of our business stay connected. Students, staff, and faculty all used it before the Teams integration. Students were able to interface with faculty on course matters, and staff on enrollment and other business. ITS was able to use Skype for Business (formerly Lync) to connect with any user who needed assistance.

  • Fewer staff needed to support community
Given an option I would prefer Teams over Skype for Business (formerly Lync), but Skype for Business (formerly Lync) over Blackboard Collaborate. Teams has more options for collaboration. Skype for Business (formerly Lync) works well with quick communication and brief remote work if needed. Blackboard Collaborate worked well in a limited scope within Blackboard. The features in Skype for Business (formerly Lync) provide an overall better experience.
