Overall Satisfaction with Slack
It is a daily essential in how I communicate not only with my team, but also with my entire organization. There is direct messaging for overall general communication as well as a greater what we have called the "lounge" which allows everyone to share photos and videos, there are other channels that we share articles and areas that we have been getting buzz around certain features. It is being used across not only my team but all teams within the organization. It allows us to share files as well as it has integrations with other tools like Salesforce and Google Drive.
- I really like the giphy integration.
- It is quick and has great seamless integrating with other tools.
- It's very quick and hardly ever crashes so it's reliable.
- It's not always clear when the connections work or don't work with Google.
- This could be more of how we have laid things out but there can be too many channels and how things are notified it's not cleanly laid out. It would be great if all the channels that I have an unread message go straight to the top.
- In a time when we are all WFH it has been really one of the only ways in which I connect with my team so it has been invaluable.
- HipChat (discontinued)
Slack is far and away much better. It's quick and reliable. Something simple like having more emojis has made it much better just from that standpoint not to mention the other functions to be able to have a web call or set up groups and/or various channels, etc...
