Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SmartRecruiters is being used as AOL's Applicant Tracking System and interview scheduler.

Pros and Cons

SmartRecruiters is good at connecting different groups/users/interviewers/people to the candidate.
Consolidates candidate information, reviews, resumes, etc very well.

Not flexible in the slightest and the support teams are very stubborn at making any changes.
Crashes frequently.

Candidate Experience

Candidates don't seem to complain on their end.

Once a hiring manager is connected to a req they can have accessibility to view candidates and details about the req. They also get alerts that let them know they there's a note in the system regarding them.

Return on Investment

Negligible. It's an adequate applicant tracking system.

Alternatives Considered

Jobvite

SmartRecruiters lets you collaborate better but in every other aspect, especially flexibility and customization, it is inferior. I would easily choose a different ATS.

Likelihood to Recommend

SmartRecruiters is better suited for smaller companies and organizations.

We take your feedback very seriously, and have actually made some serious improvements based on what you and some other customers have said. Smartrecruiters’ key mission is to provide all of our customers with the ultimate candidate and internal user experience. There has been many updates since your review in 2016! Better research and reporting: as of Spring 2018, updates include some new candidate filters (you can search by status, candidate fields, or by recruiter), and we now have user management filters (you can configure and search you user base easily instead of having to scroll down until finding what you need). There are also additional data points for your report builder, you can select the Appropriate Interview Substage, and the ability to extract the new candidate status history endpoint from the public API (which you can export on demand to a csv file). If you are no longer a customer: I know you did not have the best experience with SmartRecruiters, but I’m confident that with our product updates and improvements based on your feedback, we could really turn that around.
