Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SmartRecruiters is made available to all Franchisees for finding new employees. It is the platform to get the word out to a large audience, sometimes too large as I have had inquiries from all over the world, literally, for a tech position. In my particular situation, the pool of candidates are local.

Pros and Cons

Great templates available for posting the job. You do not have to create the position every time you post a job.
The simplicity of choosing several different sites to post the job from one place.

Sometimes Navigation on the site is unwieldy.

Candidate Experience

Our market in a mid-size city (MSA of 250000) is not easy to attract candidates from outside the area. Those who apply here from outside the area are hesitant to move to small market.

Usability for Hiring Managers

The setup and templates make it easy to create a job posting.

Return on Investment

Placing an position on SmartRecruiters makes me feel that I am really looking hard for candidates and can answer yes when someone asks me if we are posting this on a good site. However, we have the most success sourcing local by word of mouth.

Likelihood to Recommend

Even though I have used it several times, and interviewed candidates from SmartRecruiter, we have hired only one person from the site that is still working. All other candidates and/or new hires did not last as they were not local and did not work out.
