Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
Every organization needs a simple yet robust way to access remote computers and even servers and one of the best and easiest is TeamViewer. It is used in my organization to access over 20K devices and provide remote assistance to our users by our help desk. It allows our support team to remotely troubleshoot problems and understand issues reported by our users without necessitating a visit in person thus saving time and money while increasing our users satisfaction rate. Our support team uses it to access and manage our servers in the datacenter so they can keep the infrastructure operational without having to have a physical presence there.
Pros
- Multi-Platform Remote access and control
- Centralized device management with streamlined cloud interface
- Low-Footprint client/agent that allows for automated connectivity
Cons
- Not fond of the current subscription model. Prefer to buy and own licenses.
- Controls and features are sometimes harder to locate in the remote interface
- On some platforms performance could be optimized
- TeamViewer has effected great savings for us due to not having to deploy technicians
- By configuring devices with TeamViewer installed we save countless hours of support in just walking our clients through getting the remote desktop application working.
- TeamViewer is also competitive in pricing compared to other systems
- SolarWinds Dameware Remote Everywhere (DRE), LogMeIn Central and Join.me
All platforms and products are similar and each have their strengths and weaknesses so it is hard to generalize given that everyone's needs are different, but TeamViewer has proven to us to be not only versatile, easy to deploy and have a small foot print but also very secure and that is critical in this day and age. Its cloud console also offers support for setting up monitors for web services and thus we can keep an eye on our server's availability and know when we have to remote in to troubleshoot.
Do you think TeamViewer delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with TeamViewer's feature set?
Yes
Did TeamViewer live up to sales and marketing promises?
Yes
Did implementation of TeamViewer go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy TeamViewer again?
Yes
Simplicity of deployment means reduced time spent implementing, and this generates savings in man hours and overall effort for our engineers and support staff in the help desk, plus reduced frustration on the part of our clients who dont have to struggle to allow an engineer to access their machine from anywhere when they need it. Time saved and reduced frustration means less change management and happier support teams and clients.
One of the great strengths of TeamViewer that we value the most is its security. As an educational organization we have a responsibility to protect PII for our students and staff and the security features built-in to TeamViewer make us comfortable and very trusting of the application in protection of our data. We have implemented 2FA and TeamViewer sits behind OKTA so it is part of our applications dashboard requiring a single login. To date we have not had any issues with its security and TeamViewer provides timely updates with new security patches which further alleviate concerns.
