Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365

We use Veeam Backup and Replication for our critical servers and Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 for Teams and Outlook. Both products give us the ability to pull data whether it's from a database or files from someone's e-mail that's in litigation, etc.. The number one business problem addressed is having the ability to retrieve data.
  • Notifications and Alerting
  • Support is one of the best around
  • The product just works every time
  • Being able to modify who gets alerts. I have different jobs setup and I don't need everyone getting alerts that don't pertain to them.
  • Better support with the SQL plugin TOOL. Seems to need more documentation on it
  • Being able to join a call rather then emailing back and forth

  • Has immutable capabilities
We implemented Office 365 and the vendor recommended it to us
I gave it an eight because it is really simple to use. The configuration is pretty straight forward and the backups seem to always work with no issues.
Yes, we have benefited from this as we have had employees sometimes who pursued legal action and we have the data saved from Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to provide to lawyers etc.
MY organization has benefited from the restore ability and it works really well. It's always a good feeling knowing we have this and it works.
My top 2 favorite features with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is the Immutabilty option and the Restoral option. We need the immutable option to pass audits and we need the ability to restore files and emails when requested.
Veeam ONE is good for managing vCenter. I use it for statistics or things the auditor may request.
Support is good. In my opinion, the support around the SQL plugin is no bueno. Needs work in that area.

I think Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is well-suited if you utilize Sharepoint, teams, and Outlook. THe reason being is that you have an opportunity to create back jobs to store your data according to retention policies set by your company. We have used it to pull old user emails or team chats for litigation reasons.
