Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using the VMTurbo tool in our daily operations for managing the workload and balancing the performance of our virtual machines in the environment. It has a lot of features for managing our thousands of resources.

Pros and Cons

Easy to install and configure and manage.
Interface is intuitive. Dashboard is easy to set up and reporting is simple.
Warns when a server is having problems.

A multi-tenant, customer portal to present metric data would be a fantastic thing to have.
The rules were confusing for a first time user

Return on Investment

It has changed the way we manage our resources, now it's very easy to understand how and where our resources are getting exhausted and utilized.

Managing Virtual / Cloud Environments with IBM Turbonomic

It has come in very handy in setting up the policies for our deployment and reporting that is currently helping us a lot in terms of managing the resources cleverly.

Alternatives Considered

We haven't tried any other alternate solutions. For now working on VMTurbo fits our needs. We are looking for more features and enhancements in the next release.

Likelihood to Recommend

The dashboards are great. It allows us to see immediately the status of our whole VMware estate and how well it is operating. We can spot immediately if there are any issues and deal with them. It also emails us if it spots something critical.
