It is much better to prospect brands and find appropriate contacts at a parent account, and not such a strong suit for agencies.

SalesLoft

It is great for small to medium-sized teams who want to double or triple the productivity of their business development representatives. In a previous job, our email and call outbounding was all managed in spreadsheets and through Outlook. When I came to Heap and began using SalesLoft I was significantly more efficient, productive, and successful. As our team has grown, members have joined and left, and our use of the tool has evolved as our collection of cadences and templates has grown messy. A better paradigm for managing these templates, understanding what templates map to what cadence, and so on will help our team scale use of SalesLoft. I can see how a large enterprise may have to strictly control their SalesLoft environment to prevent similar drawbacks.

Pros

  • Provides email addresses - essential when doing cold email outreach.
  • Provides agencies for each brand/company.
  • Provides media spend for parent company and brand.

  • Ease of use - very little training required to master the product and very easy to navigate through their menus/options.
  • Integrates smoothly with our CRM - we can easily add prospect directly from Linkedin which ends up saving lots of time.
  • Email addresses - since SalesLoft uses google servers to gather information, the program is able to gather information from the company which can usually include an email address.

  • "Unavailable" prospects - often times we find prospects on Linkedin but SalesLoft isnt able to gather the information and transfer it to our CRM. They claim that they do not have enough information create the lead, but the problem doesnt occur with other prospects at the same company.
  • Misleading info - the information gathered from some prospects turns out to have the wrong address/phone number. Although the person's location in on their Linkedin profile, SalesLoft picks up info for a different location at the company which can be misleading.
  • Knowledge Base - this is a place to submit concerns and questions for their support team. I've come across several topics that the support team hasn't explained well and users are left not fully understanding the answer. Very small weakness.

SalesLoft is a fantastic product that will be extremely helpful to any Sales Rep looking to organize their information and stay one step ahead. While it has its shares of quirks and bugs it proves to be an awesome tool for anyone that is in the sales industry.

Alternatives Considered

Winmo allows more dynamic and functional searches, and puts agency and brand contacts in one place. It also allows exports based on spend and in general, is much more dynamic of a software.

There is really only one competitor to SalesLoft if you are looking for Best In Class, and that tool is Outreach. Both are great tools and very similar on the feature side. SalesLoft recently purchased Note Ninja and integrated that. It's essentially a feature that eliminates the need for ExecVision, Chorus or Gong. I chose SalesLoft because of the people that we worked with over there. They truly care and treated us like humans, not numbers.
