Chose ScreenConnect
Previously used LogMeIn, but their pricing became way too expensive and we wanted a self-hosted solution so that we could control it and manage it fully in-house (for security reasons and other reasons). ScreenConnect had the right feature set at a great price, as well as was …

Chose GoTo Connect
The 2 systems are quite comparable. Both system offer a variety of different features and benefits. I feel like the GoTo Connect system was more easily configured. The admin settings side of RingEX can be daunting and a little confusing. Some features are hard to find …
Chose GoTo Connect
User friendly PBX interface. The above products have a more complex and less intuitive interface design. Pricing is also a big factor, as other products can cost more compared with what GoTo offers. In addition, the access to customer support and the quality of support …
Chose GoTo Connect
We chose GoTo Connect because it put a tick box on all our requirements which included three major requirements. These three requirements were the pricing, the support offered during our relationship, and the time taken to implement and set up the product as per our …
Chose GoTo Connect
We selected GoToConnect after using Aircall and RingCentral in the past. I cannot say why we switched to GoToConnect (I did not make that decision). We ultimately left GoToConnect for Zoom Phone due to better admin control, user sentiment/support, lower pricing, and a stronger …
Chose GoTo Connect
If you are on POTS, PBX, or standard VoIP, all of these are an amazing lift-up and provide some awesome communication tools. The Cloud has exploded the level of communication experiences clients can use to shoot past their competitors. Some of these providers have grown too …
Chose GoTo Connect
We did a RFP and received over a dozen replies of proposals. We narrowed the list down and did in-person presentations on the top 3. We had an evaluation committee including IT, business office, and others to get real user input. We chose GoTo Connect because it has a very …
Chose GoTo Connect
No one else has the ease of programming and included features that GoToConnect has.
Chose GoTo Connect
Costs and main features were comparable, we chose GoToConnect for its simpler and well designed graphic user interface on their admin control panels. Also plenty of supports from Youtube and Google.
Chose GoTo Connect
We used Ring Central and it was expensive compared to GoToConnect, and not as easy to get help.
Chose GoTo Connect
We looked at several different VoIP providers before landing on GoToConnect for our final decision including Vonage & RingCentral, both of which charged for add-ons that we regularly used, but were included in the price of GoToConnect's service. We also really liked that …
Chose GoTo Connect
GoToConnect allowed me to not have to be on a long term contract while not sacrificing features or functions. It is a very robust and flexible product that is very price competitive and provides excellent service at these competitive rates, which is rare today.
Chose GoTo Connect
We selected GoToConnect over RingCentral primarily for the ease of access to the system. RingCentral required downloading multiple desktop applications that all needed to be logged into separately. GoToConnect keeps it simply in a web browser.
Chose GoTo Connect
RingCentral was hands down the most convoluted, confusing and difficult to use phone system out there we've experienced. Not only was it hard to use, it was the most expensive and we found their reporting was completely wrong. Not only was it wrong, the errors in reporting were …
RingEX
Chose RingEX
Many of the features are the same but I feel that RC makes it more user friendly for configuration and work. We have also not seen the cost increases with RingCentral that we saw with the other providers

Chose RingEX
We switched from GoTo's platform with pieces of Teams. At that time, the complexity and difficulty of integrating all of the features and connecting them to get a simple platform that was stable and easy to train weren't available elsewhere.
Chose RingEX
RingEX is far superior to Cisco BusinessEdition (which is discontinued) and slightly better than GoTo (formerly Jive) that we use in a couple smaller offices.
Chose RingEX
Feature to Feature they stack up. Support and Service is a whole other animal.
Chose RingEX
RingEX 's management tools are all out of one system instead of multiple. The features offered in their lower lever "tiers" are ones that other providers only offer in their "premium" packages. Most providers have built on new features and management consoles as separate …

ConnectWise
We often need to create an ad-hoc session with a device that is not under our management. We find ourselves doing this more than ever in the COVID world. Many people are working from home on personal machines with their employer, our client's permission and we are facilitating more support for these personal machines. Connectwise Control [(formerly ScreenConnect)] gives us a robust resource to control the device, navigate anywhere we need, execute various commands, and engage in an on-screen chat with the client. The session is very simple to create and very user-friendly to initiate. We do not recommend it for Android, Apple, or Chromebook applications. There is little to no support for these platforms.

Go-To softphones have made my life as an IT manager significantly easier. Being able to take calls and listen to my voicemails on both my computer and mobile phone has been a game-changer. I also cannot recommend the "drag-and-drop" dial plan management system enough. It makes the entire process as easy as programming in Visual Basic and allows you to see exactly what is happening when someone dials into a line.

RingCentral
RingCentral is generally good for business calls, as its mobile features, combined with landline office options, are great for communication on the go. It is also an affordable option to have a mobile cellular device if you have a lot of staff. Setup especially for multilevel authorization can be a hassle but it works well if well set up, you would have to get help in rectifying this if not calls might be redirected to the wrong extensions and changing it is not very straight forward.

Pros
ConnectWise
  • The interface is easy to use and makes sense. It's easy to understand how to organize a large number of machines involving multiple clients. But, it's also applicable for smaller set of machines too.
  • The connection speed is very quick. I've used solutions in the past that take a variable amount of time to connect, or they just take a long time every time. Control is quick every time. It doesn't get in the way of being able to support the machines on the other end.
  • The connections are reliable. I haven't experienced random disconnects throughout hundreds of instances. It was a breath of fresh air coming from the previous solution we used. I consider Control a gold standard for what a great remote connection solution can be.

  • Chat and Messaging - Conversations are easy to search, topics can be pinned or bookmarked, and groups are easy to create and administer.
  • Phone - The core functionality works very well allowing voice, txt/sms, and faxing for all users. Administration is generally fairly easy as well.
  • Mobile Client - the mobile app offers all of the same functionality as the desktop or web client.
  • Video - Video calls make it easy to share screens with other users and includes a lot of tools for planning.

Cons
ConnectWise
  • I'd like to see the ability to selectively log off the remote machine via a button on the toolbar. Currently it's a setting to always lock on disconnect, or never lock on disconnect, requiring the tech to manually lock the machine if called for at the end of a session. Its a small time save that would add up!
  • The chat feature could be expanded to be a lot more useful. Allowing clients to start conversations, and have conversations ping an email address if no one is monitoring the dashboard would be extremely valuable.
  • Some clarity on licensing when providing host-passes to guest technicians would be a boon, especially for one-off support sessions with vendors.

I would recommend this product for both internal remote control of end user workstations and remote access to other clients over the internet. It provides a secure and feature rich product that allows me to complete any necessary tasks without ever leaving the office. I will continue to renew as I'm eager to see what they do next. I would however wish the cloud service had a better API to work in conjunction with team collaboration or chat services to make it easier to connect with end users who use multiple workstations. (Slack or Stride provide this functionality)

They are knocking it out of the park on all fronts. I love the service and support I am receiving and have no complaints. If they raised their prices substantially I would reconsider but I don't think that will happen anytime soon. They would have to mess up something consistently moving forward to make me want to move

We are grandfathered into our unlimited toll-free minutes plan. We are very unlikely to switch because of that. It has been the major factor saving us a lot of money compared to switching to other solutions. I don't know any other company that still offers these unlimited plans.

Usability
ConnectWise
On the whole SC is a very powerful tool that is a vital part of the IT service arsenal. On-site visits are an "emergency" only type of scenario. Just "showing your face" is not winning any browny points for me. If my client sees my face, it's usually just to upgrade hardware or to deal other aspects of business. SC provides me and my client the bulk of the info I need to get projects done.

Overall, it's a decent product for the price. It has the basic features our company needed when it was brand new and was not overly difficult to set up. As we've grown, it's become increasingly difficult to build out the features we want to implement within the PBX, and customer support can be less than helpful. Many of the more advanced features (dial plans, queues, etc.) take a lot of research to understand how to implement. Some of the features we paid for weren't even available when we were attempting to set them up.

RingEx is reliable I have not had any issues as of yet. I use both plants we have, and the service is fair to good. The service as a whole is solid and a great method to get in contact with anyone. It performs well. It also has full control over windows security and does not get hung up like GoToMeeting when trying to install remote software at the prompt to install as admin / override. I have used TeamViewer, WebEx, LogMeIn and GoToMeeting. This is by far the best at spontaneous, remote control. It is also very easy to get a novice user connected to the session.

There is no lag in phone calls. There is no background noise or static/fuzz. Calls are crystal clear. With other dialers and phone systems, I have experienced delays between dialogue or delays with the caller picking up the phone and then being able to hear you. We do not experience this with Go To Connect.

There have been two times when something has went wrong and I needed immediate assistance in order to be able to use Screenconnect to be able to help clients and response has not been immediate. The response time has been within 24 hours. Both times if there had been easier to navigate self help I would have been able to help myself. With better self help and a speedier response it would definitely be a 10 as they always respond and help. Just a little more difficult or slow than it should be at times

One of the MOST challenging things in tech support is that some of the offshore agents "don't speak Texan/English", and are really hard to understand. GoTo Connect's support is usually someone who is VERY easy to understand their US/English, and are very helpful. Call-in support is fantastic. I have never called in and had it taken more than 30 minutes to resolve our issue. Email support is terrible. You will likely go 24+ hours until you hear back and the response is likely a canned one. I personally prefer the email or chat support option, but find myself calling instead because the email support experience is so poor.

One big lesson we learned is that training the team well makes a huge difference. It was easier when we started with the fundamental features, such as the way calls are handled. Getting staff involved early helped us set it up the right way. So I would say my experience with implementation was straightforward.

If someone has an existing system I tell them to keep that running initially and keep RingEX separate initially until the system is configured and tested to one's satisfaction. After testing and configuration is completed, then roll over the main phone numbers to the new RingEX system. I've seen one person who immediately flipped over to RingEX without properly configuring/testing the software and had many issues with missed customer calls until I helped him sort out his configuration.

I ultimately installed ConnectWise as a self-hosted solution, based on the incredible list of features and capabilities, and the pricing at the time. Avaya IP Office was for us a complicated and inflexible on-prem solution. It could be made to do a great many things similar to GoTo, however it was not flexible and scalable in the same way as GoTo, which is to be expected of a cloud solution. In particular, as we aimed to build out a contact center, IP office could not do it in a work-from-anywhere environment, and the softphone provided almost no information to the agent. GoTo solved all of the problems we were encountering with IP office, with the added benefit of not needing continously upgrading licensing - as GoTo is a one-license solution.

I have used multiple remote desktop support software in the past (Bomgar, Team Viewer, Logmein and Join.me) and this is far the easiest of the bunch to use. Its not readily apparent to me, other than cost, where you would run into any issues with larger scale deployments. When we went live on the product, the Jive team was always willing to do mass updates for us on our extensions, users, etc. in the system, so we didn't have to do too much manual one-by-one updates.

  • Instead of waiting 30+ seconds to initiate sessions, they initiate and display a desktop in two or three seconds. The amount of frustration this avoids is immeasurable.
  • Once installed it doesn't need more handholding, i.e., having the remote enter a username/password. It is always just there.

  • Enhanced patient accountability, we can track all calls - incoming and outgoing - patients tend to state that they called and left a message, but they either never called or did not leave a message. With RingEX, we can track whether they really did. It saves us quite a bit of time and aggravation.
  • Faxing is more accurate and usually very quick. Because it's accurate, it saves us time with phone calls about faxes we never received and having to refax items. Also, faxing via the system instead of printing and scanning is a time-saver.
