Likelihood to Recommend HireRight's background checking has some improvements and could hold some more historical data more than 150 days. We have had employees move from one jobsite to the other for this client and we can't look up if they have had a background check done through HireRight before if it is more than 150 days, so we end up ordering another one and duplicate/pay for extra background checks
Read full review SterlingOne has had my background check in progress for nearly a month. I spoke with them 5 days ago about the issue and discovered there was a criminal record flag in Connecticut. I have never been to Connecticut. They said this can often happen if an individual has the same name, birthday, or last four digits of SSN. This is clearly a flaw in their system if someone with the same name or birthday can appear on the same background check. I feel bad for any John Smith who applies for a job with a company that uses SterlingOne, they'll never get past the screening. Not only is this a flawed system, but when I spoke with customer service about this, they guaranteed they would expedite this within 24-48 hours. It has now been 5 days and when I called back, they said they would expedite this as if I had never called in the first place. I have been through numerous background checks for work in my life, I have done live scans and had my fingerprints taken, and have been approved to work with children with special needs (which requires a very rigorous screening) and I have never experienced such a disjointed and unprofessional process.

It creates a record of each employee in the system which makes it simple to store data safely. Read full review The initiation of a background check is very simple by only needing the name and email of the new candidate and submitting that as the new ticket. Sterling communicates with the new candidate to keep the background check moving which saves us time by not needing to keep a close eye on the process of the background check. Sterling communicates with the employer to let them know if additional charges are needed to run the background check and we can either approve or deny the charge. I would request to speed up the verification cycle as it takes more than 2 weeks for completion of verification process. Where in mine was rejected at first time and again it took 1 more weeks for providing final confirmation. Request to reduce this time. Read full review Support Rating Front line support, which is what our users are forced to deal with, rarely offers timely and acceptable solutions. To get good results, I often have to escalate issues to our account manager (who is wonderful). It seems as though any support request that is handled through normal channels takes far too long to be completed.

Also, there should be automation from legacy systems to pick up the candidate details as much as possible instead of asking for more details from the candidate via email. Read full review Alternatives Considered I enjoy HireRight much more as I am able to have more customizable features in the application as well as run reports that allow me to have increased efficiency in the hire process and know where all employees are in the process at any point in time. We selected HireRight due to these features as well as the decreased licensing cost.

Read full review Return on Investment HireRight is a Pay as You Go platform, so there are no long-term contracts to worry about. We customized our template for the information we consistently need and fill in the demographics. I would say that the ROI is 100% - we have been able to vet out the less desirable candidates based on some of the information.
