Quickbooks Desktop Pro is accounting software from Intuit, Inc. It includes core accounting features, plus analytics and exportable reports. It is offered in on-premise and SaaS forms.
I have used some other Oracle products, I just can't remember which ones. I have used all of these products in different capacities. The Oracle products I used were used a long time ago, before cloud based accounting was a thing. So, those systems were more dated and required …
I did not personally have a say in switching systems/ software's, however I have been able to more effectively communicate updates that would improve our experience with Sage Intacct and feel that changes like that wouldn't be possible in QuickBooks. We could no longer …
Netsuite is not beginner friendly, Quickbooks desktop is outdated and QuickBooks Online has technical issues which would take time to be resolved. Overall Sage is easier to use and easily understandable. Help Page in the UI has most things covered to have the seamless experience
Sage Intacct has much more to offer than QuickBooks. Sage Intacct's budgeting and planning features, in addition to Fixed Assets and Inventory Control are game changers.
Quickbooks could never stack up against Sage Intacct, they're not even on the same page for what Sage Intacct offers and what Quickbooks offers. Granted, Quickbooks is a great program for simpler companies and users, but for what we need and use it for, there's no comparison …
Sage Intacct performs well compared to other products that I have used. It is more robust than QuickBooks and much more user friendly than Open Systems. It performs very similarly to NetSuite with it's features and reporting. None of the other products I have used at the time …
I believe the company chose Sage Intacct because it was the best option at the time and would provide all the features needed to run a regional charter school program across multiple school locations. It also was compatible with Bill.com.
I prefer intacct to any version of quickbooks because it simplifies every process and helps to avoid mistakes. QBO has lots of features that are confusing and requires skills that don't come naturally to accountants. QBD is better, but it still can't pull reports according to …
Sage Intacct is far more robust and offers so many more options. My favorite thing about Sage Intacct is the financial reporting capabilities and the ability to make your own reporting. It is easy to learn and quick to set up new reports. There are many reports available but …
Sage is much better for consolidated financials and intercompany transactions, but not as user-friendly as QuickBooks. I do also like that Intacct has controls overbooking any cash-related entries--that you cannot delete, you must back out and enter and re-book. This is great …
We transitioned to Sage Intacct from QuickBooks
Desktop Pro. This version of QuickBooks was local server-based, and [since] we
did not have a VPN connection, our finance team had to be physically on-site
I received QuickBooks Pro as part of my franchise start-up. It was not a critical element for the operations of the business. I had come across Intacct through the AICPA, and noticed their affiliation. I am separately working with a new business start-up, and like the fact that …

Other than industry specific software, we don't see any major desk top competitors. Online is different - that is still being sorted out. QuickBooks is much cheaper than Intacct.
QuickBooks Pro is much more user friendly and easy to navigate. The organization of QuickBooks Pro is easy to get used to and things are where you would expect them to be located. The home screen on QuickBooks Pro is convenient and easy to customize. The help menu on QuickBooks …
Sage Intacct is well suited for most accounting needs, specifically journal entries, accounts payable/receivable processes and cash management. Intacct is also useful for budget planning and integration with financial actuals, as well as report writing to coincide with financial reporting processes on monthly, quarterly and annual basis. I'm not sure that Intacct has the capability to fully house a financial reporting process, but it is a great tool.
I am only going to recommend it because it is currently ubiquitous, and most accountants prefer it at the moment. I do not stand by the company, and will not use the product any longer than I have to. [I believe] the support is lousy, the product is overpriced, but it does the basics of what we need. I'm very happy for all those outside Intuit who make their living supporting QuickBooks Desktop Pro; third-party support is desperately needed. They also doubled their prices for software upgrades this year, and require those who don't pay double what the last upgrade cost, to subscribe every year for $200. If one does not subscribe beyond the first year, one will not be able to use the software beyond the first year. They are moving to a rental model even for those who refuse to use the LOUSY QuickBooks online. They were good company once. Now they just turn out bloatware that everyone uses, so the rest of us have to. I look forward to the day that an honest, better-priced competitor wipes the floor with Intuit.
QuickBooks Desktop Pro has been around for a few years and after an update[,] they force you to look at the changes/updates before you can use [them] after updating.
QuickBooks Desktop Pro does not have 2FA.
QuickBooks Desktop Pro should offer a way to store backups to a personal cloud without having to map a local network drive.
Sage Intacct is continuously evolving and increasing it's functionalities. I am excited to attend conferences to learn what is in the roadmap for future releases. Additionally, using Sage Intacct allows me grow as a professional, I am really enjoy the knowledge that I have within the product to be able to share my experiences.
We've used the program for more than 20 years in our firm both with clients and as our software. For the cost and value of the program it works well for our firms needs and desires for an accounting software program. At this point to switch would not make sense.
The ease of use as a seasoned user is wonderful; however, new users struggle to adapt to the program efficiently. Better training videos--all in one location--would be beneficial. The use of a "sandbox" environment is a great tool for new employees or for the fiscal department to test certain journal entries or other transactions to verify accuracy of data.
It is a great software that does everything a small business needs it to do, but there are just a few bugs and quirks that make additional software necessary. The slowness of the software occasionally might eventually be overshadowed by the quickness of cloud-based software though.
There has only been one occurrence where Sage Intacct was not available to me, however I had already been working a number of hours trying to get a project completed. It honestly allowed me to step back and take a much needed break.
As fas as integration is concerned I don't feel this slows Sage Intacct down at all. However, sometimes I do feel it takes some larger reports more time to load due to all the detail. As well as, I "move very fast" in my motions so sometimes I double click on fuctions too quickly and the system seems to think that I have a duplicate request.
Only a few times have we had to reach out to support, and every time we did, we received a relatively quick response and a solution was found fairly quickly. Only once was there an issue that took longer than a week to resolve, but it still did eventually get solved.
The support team is not always easy to use or able to understand the problems. There are some difficulties understanding [...] the issues the purchaser has and the solutions are sometimes hard to implement. A lot can be avoided if the users have adequate training and security is set up correctly at implementation.
I have taken in person training classes at several of the annual Sage Intacct user conferences. It is very interactive and the trainers are very easy to follow and understand. They are great at getting everyone in the class involved. They also make sure everyone has learned to task before moving to a new one.
Best thing I ever did was to attend a two day training seminar on QuickBooks, I learned an immense amount in a short time with hands on training by experts. I strongly recommend such training for anyone using any part of the software. It will pay for itself in the first month.
The free training is very minimal. For what we pay for the service, I would like more training. We end up training new users in-house because the provided free training is not nearly comprehensive enough. That being said, the training provided, for the material covered, was adequate and relevant for the given topics.
I would not use a thrid party administrator to implement your system, especially if you are going to be modifying the system at all. Use Intacct implementors as they will be able to better support you on any issues that come up after you go live.
We implemented the software ourselves. The training we received on the software was done by taking a community course teaching us how to use QuickBooks. It allowed me to get started with some basics of how to use the program and have not needed much assistance since completing the course work.
Sage intacct is known for its robust financial management capabilities. It offers features like general ledger, accounts payable and recievable, project accounting, expense management and more. It is suitable for small top mid sized businesses and larger enterprises. Sage intacct is highlyscalable and can accommodate the needs of growing businesses.
Zoho had great end-user support and it was almost as simple to learn and was as easy to use. But its reports were not as [customizable] as QuickBooks Desktop Pro, and its job cost and department accounting [were] more cumbersome than QuickBooks Desktop Pro was. In addition, while I like an underdog (Zoho) the fact is that it is easier to find staff that [is] comfortable with QuickBooks Desktop Pro than anything else on the market.
Sage Intacct provides multiple modules based on business requirements and it will fulfill the client's needs as per their budget.
AP aging and AR aging help clients to make the decision at any time to allow reserve for doubtful debts to ensure the financials are shown with correct values.
Financials are published on time with minimal adjustments or corrections. This client benefits and files taxes on time.
QuickBooks Desktop Pro is a no hassle accounting solution that ticks a lot of boxes. It almost never disappoints and organizations will usually keep using it for many years. If anything, the only time I've seen an organization migrate away from it is if they have specific accounting needs, or if the organization has grown to the point that they need a more robust accounting solution. Even then, QuickBooks can usually be maintained within another accounting software system for specific functions, like A/R & A/P for example.
