Paycor

Paycor is well suited for small to mid-sized businesses where their HR needs are standard and simple. Paycor is less appropriate for organizations that have more complex or robust HR needs: comprehensive performance management and succession planning, more flexibility for the types of employees (PT, FT, Temp), and a PTO system that can match our process. We had to rewrite some parts of our PTO process because Paycor's system could not match it, whereas our previous provider could.

Paycor

  • The integration between time and attendance and payroll processing is very seamless and easy to use. Once time is approved and verified, it is very quick and easy to run payroll.
  • Creating import files from each pay run to the GL is very quick and easy. All the GL mapping is done in Paycor and is easy to maintain and update as needed.
  • Reporting is fairly robust; once a user becomes familiar with the various data fields, creating custom reports is not overly difficult to do.

  • The functionality of the time clock could be improved as there are times when adjustments to time are difficult, especially when adjusting from one day to the next in the event an employee "rolls" over past midnight.
  • When using the dashboard in TOD and reviewing exceptions, it is difficult to maneuver from one day to the next with having to go back to dashboard. This functionality could be improved by allowing the user to simply select the next page which should show all exceptions.
  • The Transfer at time of day, period block transfer, and reallocate hours functions are confusing. This could be tightened up a bit and allowing multiple revisions within the same selection would be helpful.

My rating is less than a 10 due to the challenges with using the performance review portal of the system with its lack of customizable capabilities. Also, while there is a good variety of standard reports, the reporting module is often out of service and the use of the program to create your own custom reports is not user friendly

  • Kronos Workforce Dimensions a new product, and it has a lot of scope for improvement, with future releases. One of the best tools to perform time tracking.
  • Their support team is very knowledgeable, and their SLA's are pretty tight. Any query raised would be addressed in a few hours.
  • Timeclock configuration can be complicated; however, their support team knows the processes and guidelines.

Implementation of any new software is going to be challenging, especially if you are maintaining an existing program concurrently. When it is time for dual-processing (both old and new software) prior to going live, be prepared to be stressed. But trust the process and it will be over soon.

Kronos Workforce Dimensions is a very robust time tracking tool, which provides much flexibility for configuring the timecard and various rules to pay overtime. Kronos Workforce Dimensions also has their own timecards, which would automatically integrate with dimensions. Thus additional integration costs for other clocks are not required. Their support system is incredible, and they provide the bulk of training on their knowledge map.
