Likelihood to Recommend It is ideal where security is your number one concern or where there is a need to share securely across different physical locations. Speed is less than ideal in certain usage scenarios. It is limited by the speed of the internet and it can be difficult to pull large quantities of documents when researching or answering discovery requests, although, that being said, it can be addressed by maintaining your own secure server to contain a mirror of your online documents. But then the security for a mirror falls back on the organization.

Read full review Pros Searching: NetDocuments' searching capabilities put it on par with other legal search engines used for research and knowledge management purposes. Scalability: Despite the ever-increasing number of items stored in the repository, time searching is unaffected. Innovation: NetDocuments continuously looks for new solutions and updates their product regularly. Ease of Update: Because it is Web-based, updates to the software do not require local installation. Read full review Workspaces are helpful to segment information. Being able to download files directly from Nuclino is useful. Having the ability to link to external docs is useful. Read full review Cons Delay. At times, there is a delay between saving a document into Netdocuments and actually seeing them in the appropriate workspace. Such a delay is caused by the system indexing the newly added file. Netdocuments' servers slow down at times causing users to receive error messages. This can be quickly remedied, but can become a nuisance. Read full review No real offline use is possible. For small teams it's ok, but pricing is too high if lots of employees need to work with it. Read full review Usability The product is simple to learn and adheres to well-known web user protocols. The NetDocuments team spends a lot of time talking to customers regarding how to improve their interface, and are pretty quick about implementing good ideas. The system is reliable and repeatable, and similar functions are laid out consistently and in formats that users are used to.
Read full review I love Nuclino's usability. The layout is clean, simple, easy to follow, and bright. I like that there is a read-only account option so that less-tech savvy people can still use it and they won't need to worry about deleting key information from the database. Similarly, I like the features that allow multiple contributors to have the same features to edit.
Read full review Performance NetDocuments is a performant web app. It is reliable and provides all the functionality of a sophisticated document management system. It also can serve, through its APIs, as a base system for other applications, which enhances its value. Other vendors find the company easy to work with, and it consistently seems to be the first to offer new features and technologies to its customers.
Read full review Support Rating I've never had to contact support, but I won't give it a ten. We've had a few hiccups along the way, but nothing that couldn't be fixed within 24 hours.
Read full review The Nuclino knowledge base is good. Most answers to your questions can be found there. I didn't need to contact support at all.
Read full review Alternatives Considered We switched to NetDocuments 11 years ago. So, to be fair and accurate... the OpenText product at that time was called PC Docs and the company (that OpenText acquired) was
Hummingbird . I can't remember who owned iManage at the time. Anyway, NetDocuments was a superior product at the time, in general, and more specifically because the search and remote access features\functions were superior (and still are).
Read full review Nuclino is the clear winner when it comes to ease of use for both the administrator and user. Less setup time and less "training" time. The streamlined interface is quick and intuitive to learn and is not cluttered as compared to
Confluence . Every tool you need to use to create a page or administer the workspace is available immediately on screen or by right-clicking. In contrast,
Confluence buries many tools in administrative interfaces and only allows use of some features once you make several clicks to include a "macro" or "plug-in". We use both tools and I get complaints constantly from my team about how complicated
Confluence can get just to author a quick page.
Read full review Return on Investment Improved mobility Eliminated issues with strucutre The conversion was difficult, not ND fault, change is hard, but training and support helped. Read full review Having a central documentation allowed users to find data more quickly, which resulted in 50% less "question" type bugs that would appear in our queue. Collaborating documentation before development resulted in less bugs; this is part process but the ease of sharing and making related documentation easy to access encouraged users into adapting the process. Increased use in documentation allows support response time to be higher for triage since supporting documentation is ready to go. Read full review ScreenShots
