I have not been able to compare Evernote to other products since I have not been using them. However, compared to products like Google Docs mobile, I think Evernote is much more accessible and has a better user-interface on the phone. Evernote also is more memorable in the note-taking space than Google Docs, in my opinion.

Evernote is a superior product if you are a Mac user (due to the program working on an iPad and/or iPhone), however, if you are using Office 365, OneNote is included at no additional monthly cost. Since most companies have moved to O365 you have a better chance of being able to share info with more users.

Comparing Evernote and OneNote is like comparing an orange with the proverbial apple. I use Apple products (iMac, MacBook, iPad Pro and iPhone). OneNote did not play friendly with the MacBook. Evernote, on the other hand, is agnostic. I used to use it on my iPad, iPhone and Windows-driven laptop.

Microsoft touts OneNote as an Evernote killer, but OneNote was buggy and did not play well on the MacBook. While OneNote has some neat features, Evernote's ease-of-use and text search features are far, far better than whatever OneNote has.

I think it is better than OneNote overall and less costly for full-featured versions. EverNote is great at taking rough notes on your smartphone and then after synching tidying them up on the pc version. Search functionality and ability to search for words within images is superb and quite useful as we store many of our presentation files in EverNote and can search to retrieve specific slides.

Along the way, I have used various products such as Google Calendar, Dropbox for sharing and even paper. Evernote made a difference in that is was easy to use - similar to a Google Calendar for reminders, fast - similar to Dropbox for documents & emails, mainly, and highly practical - paper is not always an option when you are not at your desk. It made sense to choose an App that can satisfy all these needs, and Evernote proved to be a valuable tool.

The tagging function makes Evernote stand out from the competition. It allows cross-referencing of information. You can easily find information stored in mutable notebooks. For this reason it is still a go to program for certain projects.

The transition to Evernote was logical after the expansion of the functional to the current state. Yes, in some functions, it loses a little to competitors, but it is universal. It is convenient when all the data can be stored in one place and at the same time divided. The case of putting all the eggs in one basket is better.

Pocket - Pocket is easier to use once it is turned on, but Evernote has the advantage that it is always running. Pocket also has clipping and editing tools that Evernote might or might not have, but I don't know about.

Evernote is better than is other powerful corporate competitors like Microsoft or Google. Microsoft's OneNote is the best competitor for Evernote with better online or offline note saving after its release of the tremendous Windows 10. But Evernote is still dominating its position clearly, with its powerful creation tools technology. Google Keep is another major competitor for Evernote, but it is too far behind Evernote.

I had tried Microsoft OneNote after installing and using Evernote, but it didn't have many of the features to which I had grown accustomed. But OneNote may be a better option for Outlook users who want to keep and share all of their data via the OneDrive or Microsoft Office 365.

  • Box
I have used Box, which I really like, but it doesn't really stack up or compare very well to Evernote. Box is great for online storage and sharing large files and documents that are too big to email. It is not as ubiquitous as Evernote, nor as feature rich or user friendly.

I would say that that Microsoft Access and MS Office would be better to use since their saving mechanism seems more reliable and doesn't rely on wi-fi. It also has more options, settings, and such. However, Evernote is a very good product for notating and I would consider it better in that sense.

The team at Evernote really know their stuff. I tried out a number of different systems and found this one to be the easiest and fastest to use. I was finding that I needed my information available on mobile, desktop, and tablet and this was by far the easiest.

While OneNote offers a good digital notebook, it's more like a 3-subject, spiral notebook with enhancements for fancier formatting, ability to see revision authors, tag parts of any page and embed documents, rather than just attaching them, Evernote really is the Swiss Army Knife of note-taking with a database to collect information and quickly retrieve what you need later, like a ubiquitous, digital file cabinet that has excellent search, web-clipping, email-to-note services and sharing abilities. It provides more of what professionals need.

When it comes to ubiquity, Evernote beats every other note taking application I have found. I have a version on my Windows PC's, my Android phones and tablets, and in my browser. I use clearly and skitch, both plugins which make Evernote even more useful. Evernote even plugs into Outlooks to help me remember things from emails. The rest are either really rudimentary offering only a small number of the features, are not easily synced across devices, or else are specific to a platform limiting how I can use it. Diigo is the only one that has features that Evernote can not offer, but it's basic note taking leaves a lot to be hoped for.

We spent a brief amount of time looking at OneNote but many employees complained that the app kept crashing. Most employees already used Evernote in their personal life, so it made sense to go that route since a majority of our users were already well versed in using the application.
