ActiveCampaign: A great marketing tool to start with
Overall Satisfaction with ActiveCampaign
We help companies with setting up their marketing, based on existing tools or tools that we can suggest. ActiveCampaign is one of the tools we use and suggest, and also some of our clients use it. (So, there is not really one best tool for me, but it depends on the situation.) For marketing automation, we use ActiveCampaign for smaller companies with fewer than 500 contacts. It's easy to use, gets the job done for most of the wishes there are, and you can start at $9 per month. If it's not working, then it won't hit you too hard. We mainly use ActiveCampaign for lead generation, segmentation, automation of emails to the segments, and contact forms in one system.
Pros
- A real clean and complete automation setup
- Low price, even if you wanna try "marketing automation" to get your feet wet
Cons
- Reports are kinda bland. I wish I could have more information or even build them myself.
- With no HTML editor, the emails sometimes end up looking like something you don't want to send.
- We get better follow-ups on social media; conversion on social campaigns went from 3% to 12% in some cases.
- We have better segmentation of contacts. We have multiple lists now with specific contacts--the open ratio of average went from 23% to 40+%.
We use multiple "marketing automation" products, and each one has its pluses and minuses.
For us, ActiveCampaign is perfect for smaller companies who want to start with marketing automation. Or want to have a good base. The other tools have a lot more options and functionalities, but I would only suggest them if the projects are bigger, and if there are off-course needs for those other functions (built-in CRM, landing pages, sales management, sales funnels, etc.).
