Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I do not use it at my organization. I only use it personally. It solves the problem of quick on the fly back up of mobile files when you do not have access to your personal computer. However I wish the settings were more robust. I would prefer a more manual process, rather than automatic backup as the storage gets filled rapidly.

Pros and Cons

It is automatic, no user action required.
It means you do not have to be connected to your PC.
The interface is visually appealing.

Storage space gets filled quickly.
When full, notifications will appear abundantly, which can be annoying.
No settings for manual configuration.

Return on Investment

I do not use it for business.
It could hypothetically be used to back up data without connecting to a PC.
Notifications of full storage space can be irritating.

Alternatives Considered

OneDrive

I enjoy using OneDrive way more than Apple iCloud. Granted they are not exact competitors. I mainly enjoy the manual process of backing up files with OneDrive. The rules for storage are way more well-rounded and detailed. I have a greater control of what files I choose and thus I have far less storage troubles.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for a city photographer or urban writer quickly jotting down information and backing it up. No worry of losing your precious vacation photos by accidental damage as long as you are connected to internet. Connecting the phone to a PC can be cumbersome as iTunes has spotty performance on Windows based devices. iCloud eliminates the need to connect your phone as often to a computer.
