Overall Satisfaction with Basecamp
We used Basecamp to streamline several processes during the lifetime of the campaign cycle: specifically trafficking creatives, building creatives and creating media plans. As an organization, we were comprised of offices in seven different markets that were all serviced by a centralized digital department and we wouldn't have been able to manage campaigns across the board if it weren't for Basecamp.
Pros
- Intuitive and easy to pick up and start using.
- Great system of reminders and notifications to keep everyone up to date.
- The ability to assign to do's and view other's to-do lists is super invaluable to me as a manager.
Cons
- Sometimes navigating to areas I frequent is a bit clunky.
- I wish I could at least see projects I'm not invited to, though ideally, I'd love to have a setting to just automatically give me access to everything. As a manager, it's always tedious having to request access to campaigns all the time.
- GREATLY increased productivity by eliminating campaign-management-via-Outlook model the department was previously using.
- Significantly reduced campaign errors and creative issues due to centralized communication.
Honestly, I didn't evaluate Basecamp when I brought it over. I'd been using it at a previous job and thought it would be a good fit. It was an easy sell because it was simple enough that even our least technologically savvy people could pick it up, and the low cost made it an easy sell to the executive management.
