It is used by different departments to either create listings, post blogs, add discounts, do refunds, manage accounts, etc.

Pros and Cons

Very easy interface to use.
Fast to create listings.

Very limited options for changes.
No options to create templates (for example when creating listings) that could save lot of time.

Return on Investment

It has worked well with pretty much all we needed.
Doesn't allow to have a system to do donations (to 3rd party companies).

I think BigCommerce is what it is. It's very useful when you are starting, but in my opinion doesn't offer much versatility once you grow and want to use the website in different ways. It's too rigid and has few options to personalize the website or make it more unique.

We use APIs to communicate with 3rd companies. They work fine.

Likelihood to Recommend

For new businesses that just want to have a website running and start selling, I would totally recommend BigCommerce. However, once your company grows bigger, the system is sort of rigid where you don't have a way to change lots of functionality aspects. You need to either learn how to program or hire a programmer.
