Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

1. To Access database view since we cannot process credit cards on NXT as well as other functions. 2. To access security 3. Email our newsletter. I would say the product was a waste if not for the latter.

  • When searching for a donor, it seems more feasible to type in the name and press enter. However, if you press enter, the last record you opened will open.
  • Cannot process recurring credit cards.
  • Cannot create batches of donations.
  • Reports are confusing and not user friendly.
  • Cant restrict by constituency code because if you do, someone may add a duplicate because they don't see the record in NXT. in RE; even if a person is restricted by constituency code, they can see the record exists and ask permission to access it.
  • Mass emails.
  • NXT has saved us about $1200 per year in constant contact fees.
No impact because I do not use it. I want a product that is cohesive. Not split into two separate parts: NXT and RE. Looking for another product to use. I have used RE since 1999 and trained many other Dioceses during those years. I really liked the product, and it was ahead of its time. Now, it is so behind others. Not being fully functional on the cloud is just a terrible mistake.

DonorPerfect is exceptional in customer service. If you are unable to create a report, they will do it for you. You are able to add and remove fields as needed. Although not as easy to use initially as RE, it does a great job in being anything you want it to be because of its flexibility. ParishSOFT is great for parishes because it supports the sacramental data piece but is not very accommodating and is limited in its reports. If I had to choose a product today, I would choose DonorPerfect over NXT.

If you want to send a mass email, then it is great. The functionality is very much like Constant Contact, which most people have used. Easy reports such as a list of previous donors. More complex reports, such as comparing how a fund did today versus last year on the same date, do not work well unless you change the date each time manually. Why have a cloud-based product without it all being cloud-based? Why bring Citrix, which is so slow and sometimes confusing to those not used to it (finding where to save the file), into the mix? Should have developed the entire thing on the cloud before releasing it.
