Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

Use daily for our fundraising team in capturing information on donors and tracking contact reports, proposals, business information, gifts, wealth ratings. Have used NXT for the last 4 years which has been wonderful for frontline fundraisers where they are able to access portfolio information at anytime and able to download reports that makes it more collaborative with the operations team.

Pros

  • NXT Dashboards that are easy to build depending on what you want to see if it’s for metrics or specific tracking of moves management.
  • Tracking opportunities/proposals so it’s nice to build an easy pipeline
  • NXT will keep track of how long a donor is in a specific stage of prospect management so it’s nice to see how long someone has been in qualification, cultivation etc

Cons

  • Some things from classic RE still don’t match up in NXT
  • Can’t export an action report that contains all information that the team would like to see
  • Sometimes it seems to take awhile to refresh once a record has been updated

  • We are working on capturing peer to peer fundraising in Raiser’s Edge which is going to be a great thing for our organization
We have used insights in building reports and measurements this last year for fundraisers. It has been great to look at different teams and what they have been doing in regards to how many significant meetings they’ve had. Also looking at opportunities for each fundraiser and able to close these out once they have closed that gift.
  • Online Training
We got some initial training for NXT once we started using it. It has been a few years since that so a lot has changed since then and any other training we received has been if we have reached out to find out more on specific areas of NXT and questions on what we are or are not capable of pulling.

I have used Raiser’s Edge for over 15 years for our Foundation. Overall it has been a great tool for prospect management and gift administration. When we started using NXT it took awhile to get use to it but now it has become really great tool for not only our team but for the fundraisers as well. Some issues that we have encountered all seem to do with certain pieces of information in classic RE not translating over to NXT yet. Also I know that entering gift information hasn’t been something that we use NXT for yet. Overall we have enjoyed learning more and more about NXT and all the different reports/insights we are able to build for our fundraising team.
