Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce
I used Ceridian HPW about 10 years ago and really liked that product. I was glad to hear that my company had transitioned to Dayforce. We currently use Dayforce for payroll, benefits, & onboarding. Since I’m still fairly new to both, I’m not sure what plans the company has to utilize more Dayforce functionality to streamline processes within the company. I have always been a fan of having one system that can work across all areas within any company.
- Training! I really liked the training available for new users to learn how the system works in Ceridian education.
- Support availability: it’s great to know we can pick up the phone for support in case we need quick assistance.
- Friendly! I worked with someone on the ticket and they asked me to stop by at Insights to say hi! Additionally, the President of Ceridian, Leagh, walked by me and I said hello. She stopped and chatted with me for a bit and I gave her some suggestions for the next Insights, she seemed genuinely interested and I never felt she was in a hurry to move on. Even the CEO, David Ossis at the general session gave out his email address. Who does that? I was very impressed!
- I think Insights should definitely have a FIT session for Benefits next year. Being new to Dayforce, it would really have been advantageous for me, as I felt the reporting was.
- Benefits module definitely needs an audit tab (who made changes and what changes were made, not just a history of when the change was made under history) and notes on the elections page. Having to run a report to see who made a previous change is frustrating.
- When registering for Insights sessions, make notes that certain sessions don’t need to be taken if you are attending FIT. For example, I registered for some of the reporting lab sessions thinking it was going to allow me to practice and ask questions or for help, only to find out I didn’t need to take them if I had done FIT. Finding this out during Insights made it difficult for me to register for other sessions and miss out on making appointments at CSZ.

Being able to set up benefits eligibility is good but could see more options for that.
Real-time data is great to have but we have seen some difficulty with updating schedules and corresponding days off for those schedules. I wish there was a way we could make a schedule change and the days off automatically updated. We see issues with putting someone on leave of absence where it then wipes out pay or commissions, or PTO. I’ve seen other systems create separate line items on a check for LOA, Regular hours, OT, and PTO. Our process now requires too much manual work on mine and Payroll's side.
I like that Dayforce modules talk to each other. Workday’s modules didn’t for things that had to be manually added to a check like benefit premium catch up or an employee forgot to add a PTO request in through normal processes. In my mind, anything done to a check whether through normal processes or manual processes should lower PTO or benefit balances.
UltiPro was unable to handle the 600 different EINs that we had at the time. Payroll processing became too difficult in their environment.
