Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

We have a lot of contractors working on different projects, and CU helps us all communicate in one place plus track our time since we have limited capacity each month. The managers are able to do billing as per capacity management and, therefore, proactively ask for an extra budget if they forecast the need. So, I’d say - capacity management, budget management, and planning, resource management overall are some of the key components of why we use CU heavily.
  • I am creating a task - Breeze.
  • You are tracking time and viewing individual dashboards.
  • I am customizing dashboards as per our needs internally.
  • We are creating templates that can be reused.
  • I am creating roadmaps for new hires.
  • New hire onboardings.
  • CU currently doesn’t let you add $$ to a task while tracking time. You have to manually edit the time followed and click on $$ for this to be displayed as billable to a client.
  • It doesn’t easily show tasks done. Sometimes you have to dig deep to find it.
  • It doesn’t have a powerful predictive search. It takes a while to show you all options while looking for a task and doesn’t show semantic tasks.
  • It’s easier to get a buy-in from the management showing your timesheet if you’re at capacity for the month. This takes out the mistrust from the equation if it ever existed because the system is not lying. That’s a massive plus for team members who have a hard time saying no to more work.
It helps us manage our quarterly rocks for the year, and we can put everything in one place regarding a particular project/goal, add docs, looms, videos, spreadsheets, Figma, and more.
We use CU majorly for transparency of projects and capacity management. We haven’t had to use a separate time-tracking app or a resource management app because we use CU.
Asana is definitely much more straightforward to use but is highly restricted in terms of resource management. There’s no way to track the time or budgets that CU lets us do.

Do you think ClickUp delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with ClickUp's feature set?

Yes

Did ClickUp live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of ClickUp go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ClickUp again?

Yes

I am not if it’s less suited anywhere. I think it’s a great tool for managing projects, people, and overall client-agency relationships. It has a huge learning curve and can be challenging for new hires as it takes a while to get used to. This generally overwhelms team members who are not as comfortable with technology.
