Overall Satisfaction with Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery

We utilize Commvault as a service offering to our client base and have done so for the past 10 years, delivering a data protection service that is the largest in the country.

Pros

  • Reliability
  • Options for protecting different workloads
  • Support structure with ESP and TAM
  • Development cycle and adoption of client requested modifications/enhancements

Cons

  • Integration of the personalization teams TAPI functionality into core product to increase speed of new functionality rollout.
  • Automation around agent installation for MSPs
  • Dynamic workload allocation, so automatically pausing and resuming workloads automagically so any late-night failures because of any network or client issue could be tried again during the backup window, potentially multiple times.
  • Positive, best choice for a managed service of large size and high SLA requirements
  • Positive, meets all clients requirements for workloads
  • Positive, very successful service, based on the product
Workload options for protecting client workloads are extensive and reliable. The pedigree of the application itself is solid, been around a long time, and they've learned a lot of lessons. The support structure for when we need support or help is superior to many other vendors. Reliability of the software and the company to do what is required when required. ESP support is fantastic and I would recommend it to all. Our TAM (Technical Account Manager) is simply awesome, we treat him like one of our team.
Meets all our service requirements and we have thousands of happy clients and a powerful team managing our infrastructure with this solution. As we use it for a managed service to our clients, we have an extensive capability that fits well with the product and we have made the most of its functionality and the support we get from Commvault.
