Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

We use Concur across our 800+ person organization to manage expense reports, reimbursements, approvals, etc. It helps keep our teams synced and provides a helpful layer of accountability. While there are a few things, like the interface, that I would change about Concur, overall we're happy with the product and don't have any plans to change.
  • Sharing reports among users.
  • Allocating business expenses based on attendees.
  • Users can add their loyalty programs.
  • Exceptions can be cumbersome to sort through.
  • Hotel reimbursement is very exacting and can be tedious if you don't add the taxes and other fees up properly.
  • You can't upload multiple receipts at once.
  • Streamlines expense reimbursement.
  • Improves expense tracking and budget reconciliation.
  • Provides an audit log.
Expensify far outshines Concur when it comes to delight. It's wonderful to use the Expensify product, especially on an app. Concur, however, provides a lot of features that are integral to a large corporation, and while the UI could stand improvement, those features are non-negotiable for our team. We'll deal with the poor design.
Concur Expense does well in a large, corporate context. I've used solutions like Expensify in the past, and really appreciated the interface and usability, but my understanding is that it doesn't always accommodate the use cases of a big business like Concur does. Concur could really work on its UI/UX improvements, but overall it gets the job done.

SAP Concur Attributes

Yes

Are you happy with SAP Concur's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP Concur live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of SAP Concur go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy SAP Concur again?

Yes

I would rate usability as a high (8) for concur software. I find that expenses are easy to upload with the the mobile app and things are generally easy to categorize to the appropriate resource center/ line item. While the UI is not a slick as other serves out there (expensify) it is pretty good.
  • Adding comments and business purpose to expenses
  • Recently used expenses
  • Uploading reciepts
  • Adding clients or employees to shared expenses
  • Adding hotel tax or other allocated expenses
  • UI can look outdated at times
Relative to our previous software and workflow, Concur has dramatically increased our organizations efficiencies. Uploading receipts is simple for employees to do, routing to management for approval is done automatically, and expenses are automatically uploaded to our accounting systems. Furthermore, it is simple for out accounting teams to sample and audit logged expenses.
Compared to our previous software, Concur is incredibly scalable. To my knowledge there is no limitation on the number departments, resource centers, or GL line items that can be input into concur. I've seen Concur used across our 1000+ person organization with ease making it extremely scalable.
I don't have expertise actually building in the integration (not an IT person), but from what I've seen we've have great success integrating Concur into our accounting and financial reporting software suit. The two complaints I've heard is that resource center names and GL line items must be manually updated rather than an automated process, but this is minor (those items are not updated often).
